Sikhs have a special Relation with Ayodhya and Shri Ram, something no Modern-Day Politician talks about

Guru granth Sahib, revered as a spiritual master of Sikhs, has openly described the ruthless invasion of Babar and his continuous efforts to raze temples:

He burned the rest-houses and the ancient temples; he cut the princes limb from limb, and cast them into the dust.

Along with Hindus, Sikhs have faced atrocities to an unbearable extent during Islamic invasion of India. The killing of Sikh Gurus by Mughals remains a horrifying witness to this fact.

When Hindu and Sikh warriors united to fight and defeat Aurangzeb ’s commander:

Baba Vaishnavdas, a disciple of Guru Samarth Ramdas, created an army of ten thousand chimta-dhari or tong-wielding saints to fight Mughal atrocities. In continuous attempts to reclaim Ram janmbhumi by Hindus and construction of a platform, which had a height equal to a palm, outside Babri mosque structure, Akbar, Jahangir and Shahjahan had allowed prayer offerings by Hindus.

But with Aurangzeb coming into power, he began his atrocities on Hindus and continuously fought to completely reclaiming the holy land. He sent his general Jabaz Khan on a campaign to Ayodhya. Hindus got a hint in advance and, along with the chimta dharis of Baba Vaishnavdas, they defeated the force of Jabaz Khan in a seven-day war at Urvashikund.

Foreseeing a counter attack, Baba Vaishnavdas contacted the tenth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh ji, who gladly obliged the request by sending a huge force to Brahmkund. The eighteen-year-old Guru himself accompanied the army and reached Ayodhya via Prayag.

Miffed with the defeat, Aurangzeb removed Jabaz Khan from the post and deployed a more tyrant general Sayyid Hasan Ali who, along with an army of fifty thousand, attacked Ayodhya.

The united force of Hindus and Sikhs succeeded in defeating Sayyid Hasan Ali, who did not live to face his king. This event is recorded in Alamgir Nama.

In his autobiography Bachitra Natak, Shri Guru Govind Singh Dev has claimed that he was a descendant of Lord Rama’s younger son Lava, and that Guru Nanak Dev was a descendant of Lord Rama’s elder son Kusha (2/18-34, 2/52, 4/1-10 and 5/1-10).

Sikh scholars like Rajendra Singh have extensively debunked the attempts of English scholar McAuliffe who tried to create a divide between Hindus and Sikhs in his book “Sikh Itihas Mein Shri Ram Janmabhoomi“. He explained that the Rama of the Shri Adi Granth is the same Rama that Valmiki introduced as the son of Dasharatha, husband of Sita and King of Ayodhya.

This alone provides an explanation to why Shri Ram’s name is mentioned more than 2500 times in Shri Guru Granth Sahib.

Adding to the unity of two faiths, Guru Gobind Singh ji started a Khalsa panth after the martyrdom of his revered father, Guru Tegh Bahadur – the ninth Guru of Sikhs.

In his famous poem Ugardanti, Guru Gobind Singh ji writes:
‘Sanction me to destroy the evil, end this everyday conflict of Hindus and Muslims.

Ample brave Singh warriors will rise. They will face the Turks and make them defenseless.

Throughout the world, the Khalsa panth will be prominent. The Hindu dharma will prevail, and the Turks (Islamic invaders) will be in flight.’

Sikh shrines in Ayodhya:

Guru Nanak Dev, Guru Tegh Bahadur and Guru Gobind Singh (as a child) visited Ayodhya at different times. There are three Sikh shrines here, all in a cluster, near Brahm Kund on the bank of Saryu. All the three Sikh shrines were taken care of by Brahmin priests and then were handed over to Kashmiri Sikh,Shri Gulab Singh, in the middle of the nineteenth century. He constructed Gurudwara Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1899 on the site of the platform dedicated to child Gobind Das. An octagonal domed room is named Singhasan Sthan encloses a platform on which are placed the sacred relics – i.e. a pair of sandals believed to be once worn by Guru Tegh Bahadur, a steel arrow, a dagger and a chakra.

Brave Nihang Singh Fakir Khalsa

On 28th November, 1858, Nihang Singh from Punjab entered the structure named Babri mosque and worshipped Lord Ram in the middle of this building. He performed havan and puja and erected a symbol of Shri Bhagwan within its premises. He was accompanied by only twenty-five Sikhs who raised religious flags at the mosque and wrote ‘Ram-Ram’ with charcoal all over the walls of the mosque. They created a chabutra or platform near the Mihrab and Mimber and placed the picture of Bhagwan’s idol. This is recorded in a report by Sheetal Dubey, the thanedar of Oudh(Awadh). The miffed Khattib of Babri masjid, Muhammad Asghar, rushed to British government to complaint two days later after the incident, maybe after making sure Nihang Singh is not in the city.

Continuous attempts by Sikhs to reclaim the holy land:

Few years back, in a VHP rally for Ram mandir attended by notable persons like Shri Ashok Singhal, Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, Shiromani Akali Dal openly spoke in favor of building Ram temple and sacrificing their lives for the holy cause.

So, let us see the metaphoric PRISON in which all the Hindus are IMPRISONED for life.

Hindus today are in JAIL without walls.

A weak nation is made strong by its Constitution. A CONSTITUTION MAKES THE PEOPLE FREE OR SLAVES.

A weak man is made to feel strong by the police and the army. A weak nation is made to feel strong by its Constitution.

If the Hindus do not grasp this, they, as MAJORITY, will be trembling with fear before the Muslims, the minority!

And that FEAR will eventually turn Bharat into Islamic Republic.

Hindus today are in JAIL without walls. In jail prisoners are denied liberties. They cannot do simple things like meeting with families, taking a walk in the park, inviting friends for a drink, and so on.

Let us see WHICH liberties are denied to the Hindus:

1. They are conditioned to see the Muslims as the prisoners see the wardens. This seriously INHIBITS the Hindus’ freedom of action.
2. They cannot reject Partition though being the majority, though Partition was FRAUD & DECEPTION, though it was unprovoked naked aggression.
3. They cannot see Sri Krishna’s or Netaji’s bust in Prime Minister’s office.
4. They cannot guarantee safety of Hindus in Srinagar and Sindh, even East Bengal.
5. They cannot say, “Bharat is a Hindu Rashtra”.
6. They cannot stop Hajj subsidies to Muslims. Nor can they dare to demand the SAME for Hindu and Sikh pilgrims
7. They cannot repeal Article 370 of Constitution that applies to ONLY one Muslim majority State, ignoring all the Hindu SLAVE States, including one Sikh SLAVE State (East Punjab with capital on Union Territory).
8. They cannot re-build the Temple in Ayodhya
9. They cannot compel the Muslim groom to embrace the religion of his Hindu bride though she is invariably converted to his crude macho religion from desert. The slaves are too scared to invite the Muslims to embrace Hindu Faith though the Muslims and the Christians are richly “harvesting the Hindu crop!”.
10. They cannot consign this Constitution that stated “Hindu Muslim Bhai Bhai” to FIRE on the day the Muslims set fire to Rawalpindi, Lahore and Multan, killed the Hindus, raped our girls, made them march through towns STARK NAKED. Yet the Hindu SLAVE must say, “Hindus and Muslims are the SAME in our “BROKEN, BLEEDING BHARAT!” They CANNOT use the word “enemy” for the killers who chased them out of East Bengal and West Punjab and CAPTURED one third of India on one day in 1947. No! They are not enemies but “brothers”! Consider the ludicrous: Millions of Hindus cannot define a “Hindu”, but all the Hindus can define a Mohammedan so easily as “our brother”!
11. Muslims CLAIM Kashmir while the “Constitutionally” terrified SIKHS (part of Hindu family) cannot claim even the Janmasthan of Guru Nanak Devji. The HINDU logic: “What the RASCAL snatched by force or fraud, BELONGS TO HIM IN PERPETUITY!”
12. In film industry the heroes are MUSLIMS in Bangladesh (not a single Hindu!), Muslims in Pakistan (not a single Hindu) and ALSO in Hindusthan (not one Hindu hero is seen holding the hand of a Muslim actress!). Prisoners cannot aspire to equality with their Prison Guards. Can they?

NB: Esteemed readers can think of several other instances where the Hindu tolerates threats and bullying by Muslims in Bharat in extreme fear!

Good news: ONE DAY THE PRISON GATES WILL OPEN AND ALL THE HINDUS WILL BE FREE UNDER A NEW CONSTITUTION.

समय बदलता नहीं बदलती हैं लोगों की भावना, विशेष कर देश के प्रति ! लम्बी गुलामी के विरुद्ध 1857 ईस्वी में आज़ादी का झंडा बुलंद हुआ और 90 साल तक एक से एक बढ़ कर कुर्बानियां हुई ! कुछ लोग तो इस से भी बीस साल पहले एंग्लो सिख युद्ध में अंग्रेजों के विरुद्ध लड़े ! ये और कोई नहीं शहीद भगत सिंह के बड़े दादा थे ! इनकी आधी सम्पति एंग्लो सिख युद्ध में हिस्सा लेने के एवज में जब्त करली गई थी ! अंग्रेजों ने उन्हें 1857 में बुलाया की आप इस बगावत में हिस्सा न लें ,आप की सम्पति वापस करदी जायगी ! भगत सिंह के दादा ने कहा की गुरु जी ने मुझे ऐसा नहीं सिखाया !

 

सन 1942 आते -2 भारत छोडो या समूर्ण आज़ादी की गूंज उभरी और देश भक्तों की क़ुर्बानीओं

ने देश को आज़ादी दिलाई ! सरदार पटेल जैसे देश भक्तों के बाद एक ऐसे देश भक्तों की लाइन लगी की चोरी

के इल्जाम में जेल गये लोगों ने भी स्वतंत्रता सेनानी की बड़ी -2 पेंशन ली और आज भी ले रहे हैं !

फिर तो देश पर कुर्बान होने की बजाय देश लूटने की लहर चल पड़ी ! आज हज़ारों पूर्व सांसद या

विधायक लाखों रूपए मासिक पेंशन ,जेल में बैठ कर भी, एक दिन सांसद या विधायक रह कर पेंशन ले रहे हैं !

क्या किसी नौकरी या देश में सपथ लेते ही पेंशन हो जाती हैं ?

यह लूट बंद करों ! देश खरबों रूपए के बोझ तले डूबा जा रहा हैं ! करोड़ों रूपए लूट कर लाख रूपए मासिक

पेंशन लेकर जनरलों तक JM पर और पेंशन की मांग कर रहे हैं?

Hindus Demand to Amend India Constitution

 

Demand to Remove or Amend Articles 28, 29, 30

As They Are Discriminatory Against Hindus

 

Per the current constitution:

 

1. Quran can be taught in Government schools, but if you want The Vedas and Geeta be taught, you are communal.

 

2. You have to pay tax to go Amarnath, but if you go for Haj, you get a subsidy.

 

3. There are 4 hostels exclusively for Muslims in Calcutta University on Government expenditure, but no such hostel for the Hindus.

 

4. Muslims girls on passing board exam will get Government scholarship,

but not Hindu girls.

 

5. Muslim students get monetary benefit on obtaining 50% marks in Primary education level, but Hindu students don’t get the benefit even on scoring 95% marks.

 

6. There are arrangements for special interest free loans for Muslims,

not any such for Hindus.

 

7. Temples will pay revenue on their income,

but no Mosques or Churches need to pay tax on their income.

 

8. If you fight for the cause of protection of dogs, cats, goats or other animals, you are an animal lover.

But if you take up the cause for protection of cows, you are communal for sure!

 

9. You will also be called communal if you chant Bharat Mata ki Jai!

But if you chant Pakistan Zindabad openly on the streets, it’s your freedom of speech!

 

10. M. F. Hussain can draw nude pictures of Sarasvati, communists can call Goddess Durga a sex worker, because Hindus are Secular,

but if you speak a word against Prophet Muhammad, there will be riots!!!

We have to spread this length and breadth of India,

and we should force the Govt to bring amendments.

 

The current constitution ties Hindu’s hands and legs. Article 30 of Indian Constitution is biased in nature and inhuman. There is a discrimination against Hindus in it. Every Hindu must read and study it.

*According to it Hindus cannot open and run their education institute as freely like other minorities. They cannot teach their religious subjects like Bhagavad Gita & Ramayan, etc. whereas other minorities like Muslims and Christians can teach their religious subject like Quran, Bible etc.*

Even according to it Hindus cannot run & control their religious organization like temples government controls the management of Hindu Religious Organization, Temples etc. while same condition is not applied to other minorities they and run, control and manage their Religious Organizations like Mosques, Churches etc.

*Government imposes tax on Hindus Temples but gives financial aid to Minority Religious Organizations like Mosques, Churches etc. Government gives aid to Madrasa but same thing is not applied to Sanskrit Vedic Schools and Hindus Religious Institutions. *

These are things are biased in nature against Hindus. Hindus should be united and jointly protest it. They should raise voice against it. In India Minorities are given special & extra benefits and facilities as compare to Hindus. This thing should be avoided. Hindus are discriminated in India.

As per my knowledge India is the only country in world or globe where majority communities like Hindus are discriminated and treated badly than minorities. Due to the vote bank politics and policies of various political parties Hindus are neglected and other minorities expect Hindus are given more preferences.

गैर मुस्लिमों को कैसे बचायें ___

प्रसिद्ध लेखिका सुश्री तसलीमा नसरीन जो प्रायः मुस्लिम कट्टरपंथियों के निशाने पर रहती है और अपनी प्रखर स्पष्टवादिता के कारण अपने देश बांग्लादेश से निर्वासित होने का वर्षो से दंश झेल रही है, की विभिन्न पुस्तकें व लेख मुस्लिम कट्टरपंथियों के विरोध में समय समय पर ज्ञानवर्धन करते रहते हैं |  इसी संदर्भ में  (दैनिक जागरण में 18.11.2017 को  प्रकाशित) तसलीमा जी का एक लेख “बांग्लादेश में कैसे बचेंगे हिन्दू” पढने को मिला |
निसंदेह यह सत्य हैं कि अनेक विपदाओं में जीने को विवश हिन्दुओं को विलुप्त करने के षड्यंत्र पाकिस्तान के समान बांग्लादेश में भी भयावह रूप से चलाये जा रहें हैं | इस लेख का अधिकाँश भाग अत्यंत स्पष्ट व तथ्यपरक हैं साथ ही इस्लामिक जिहादियों की मानसिकता पर निर्भीक प्रहार भी करता हैं | उन्होंने अपने लेख द्वारा यह भी स्पष्ट किया है भारत और बांग्लादेश के अल्पसंख्यकों की स्थिति में अत्यधिक अन्तर है | भारत में मुसलमानों की जनसँख्या पुरे बांग्लादेश की जनसँख्या से अधिक हैं | परन्तु जब बांग्लादेश में हिन्दुओं पर अत्याचार होता हैं तो वहां की सरकार अल्पसंख्यकों (हिन्दुओं आदि) के प्रति कोई सहानभूति नहीं रखती, जबकि भारत में अगर हिन्दुओं द्वारा मुसलमानों के कुकृत्यों का विरोध भी किया जाय तो भारत का प्रशासन व बुद्धिजीवी समाज केवल हिन्दुओं को ही दण्डित करने के मार्ग तलाशता हैं , क्योंकि मुस्लिम वोट बैंक का दबाव प्रमुख कारण बना हुआ हैं | जबकि बांग्लादेश व पाकिस्तान आदि में तो अल्पसंख्यकों (हिन्दुओं आदि) के वोटों का कोई महत्व ही नहीं होता , तभी तो  वहां के हिन्दू आदि अल्पसंख्यक निरंतर प्रताडित किये जा रहें हैं | उनके इस लेख के अनुसार पिछले दिनों रंगपुर (बांग्लादेश) में लगभग दस हज़ार मुसलमानों ने हिन्दुओं की बस्तियों में उनके घरों में लूटपाट करने के बाद आग लगा दी , कारण यह बताया गया कि किसी हिन्दू ने फेसबुक पर इस्लाम का अपमान किया था | जबकि वह अफवाह एक मुसलमान द्वारा ही फैलाई गयी थी और झूठी फेसबुक का सहारा लिया गया |  इसप्रकार मुसलमानों की सुनियोजित साजिशों से सैकडो व हज़ारों की संख्या में दंगाइयों की भीड़ द्वारा हिन्दू बस्तियों में आगजनी ,लूटमार, अपहरण व हत्याये  होने से वहां के हिन्दू पलायन करने के लिए विवश किये जाते आ रहें हैं | यहाँ यह भी कहना उचित होगा कि पाकिस्तान में भी अनेक प्रकार से हिन्दुओं को पीड़ित करके धर्मांतरण करने या फिर पलायन करने का निरंतर दबाव बना रहता हैं |
परन्तु तसलीमा जी का यह लिखना कि “जिसप्रकार बांग्लादेश में हिन्दू विरोधी मुसलमानों की संख्या बढ़ रही हैं उसी प्रकार भारत में मुस्लिम विरोधी हिन्दुओं की संख्या भी बढ़ रही हैं”, कहीं न कहीं उनकी उदार व सहिष्णु हिन्दू समाज के चारित्रिक व नैतिक मूल्यों के प्रति अज्ञानता का परिचय कराता हैं | उन्हें यह अवश्य ज्ञात  होगा कि इस्लाम में अपने जन्म से ही (मूल इस्लामी पुस्तकों के अनुसार) अविश्वासियों (काफिरों) पर हमले  करके उनको लूटना , इस्लाम स्वीकार करवाना और न मानने पर उनको नष्ट कर देना आदि मुख्य हैं | लुट में आई धन -दौलत और बालिकाओं-महिलाओं आदि को “मालेगनीमत” समझ कर आपस में बांटना भी इन मुस्लिम लुटेरों को सहर्ष स्वीकार हैं | इसका अभिप्राय यह हुआ कि इस्लाम में मानवीय नैतिकता , आध्यात्मिकता व चारित्रिक सिद्धान्तों का कोई मूल्य नहीं हैं | साथ ही इस्लाम में कोई स्वतः कुछ मानें या न मानें इस पर भी अनेक भ्रम फतवों के माध्यम से बनायें जाते रहते हैं | अपने विवेक से कोई कुछ उचित -अनुचित या सही – गलत मानें इसके लिए भी वह स्वतंत्र नहीं हैं |
अतः यह स्पष्ट होना चाहिए कि मुस्लिम विरोधी हिन्दुओं की संख्या बढने का मुख्य कारण क्या है ? जब यह सर्वविदित ही है कि किसी भी क्रिया की प्रतिक्रिया तो होती ही हैं, इसलिए जब सामूहिक मुस्लिम कट्टरता उनसे (हिन्दुओं) घृणा करती हो और उन निर्दोषों को बिना विवाद के हर संभव प्रयासों द्वारा नष्ट करने के लिए अनेक अमानवीय अत्याचारों का सहारा लेती हो और अपने इस आपराधिक व आतंकी मनोवृति में कोई परिवर्तन या संशोधन भी न करें और न ही कोई विचार करें तो फिर हिन्दू  क्या करें ? क्या वह योही लुटता पिटता रहें ?  साम्प्रदायिक दंगों में वह अपने व्यापारिक स्थलों व निवासों को लुटवाकर जलवाता रहें ? क्या वह अपनी बहन-बेटियों की अस्मत लुटने पर भी चुप रहें ? क्या वह समाज में अपराध व आतंकवाद का कोई प्रतिकार न करें , क्यों ? जबकि मुसलमान ऐसा करना अपना पवित्र कार्य मानते हैं | ऐसा वे कट्टरपंथी मुसलमान इसलिए करते हैं कि “अल्लाह की राह पर अल्लाह के लिए जिहाद” करने की मानसिकता उनमें बचपन से ही विकसित की जाती हैं | उनकी अरबी संस्कृति भी यही पाठ पढ़ाती है कि धारदार हथियार से गैर मुस्लिमों (काफिरों) के गले काटने से शबाब के साथ जन्नत भी मिलती हैं | इसकी पुष्टि में प्राचीन मुग़ल इतिहास में असंख्य उदाहारण मिलते हैं | वैसे भी वर्तमान काल में पिछले कुछ वर्षों से  इस्लामिक स्टेट के आतंकी काफिरों के सिर काट कर और उसका सोशल मिडिया पर बेहिचक प्रचार करके अपनी अरबी संस्कृति व दुर्दांत मानसिकता से सभ्य समाज को भयभीत कर रहें हैं | विश्व में इस्लामिक आतंकवादियों के अनेक संगठन अपने इस्लामी झंडे को सम्पूर्ण विश्व में लहरा कर उसका इस्लामीकरण  (दारुल-इस्लाम ) करने के उद्देश्य से जब निरन्तर सक्रीय रहेंगे तो गैर मुस्लिमों को कैसे बचाया जा सकेगा ? निसंदेह  ऐसी अमानवीय मनोवृति का एक तरफा विकास मदरसा शिक्षा व्यवस्था का ही परिणाम हैं | अतः क्या यह कहना उचित नहीं होगा कि जब तक इस्लामी दर्शन व विद्याओं में आवश्यक परिवर्तन नहीं होगा तब तक बांग्लादेश व पाकिस्तान सहित विश्व के अन्य मुस्लिम बहुल देशों में “हिन्दू या कोई अन्य गैर मुस्लिम कैसे बचेंगे” की संभावनाओं की खोज व्यर्थ ही रहेगी ?

Muslims must return Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi to Hindus

I firmly believe that Muslims of India should voluntarily hand over the three disputed sites at Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi to the Hindus.

As a token of compromise, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and others should not bargain for the 39,997 other sites.

I am not saying anything new.

I have maintained this for the past 40-odd years or so.

The Indian Express had even published my opinion in their “Letters to the editor” section on December 15, 1990, when I was serving as deputy superintendent archaeologist (Madras Circle).

I had written:

“I can reiterate this (the existence of a Hindu temple before it was displaced by the Babri mosque) with greater authority – for I was the only Muslim who had participated in the Ayodhya excavations in 1976-’77 under Prof BB Lal as a trainee. I have visited the excavation near the Babri site and seen the excavated pillar bases. The JNU historians have highlighted only one part of our findings while suppressing the others… Ayodhya is as holy to the Hindus as Mecca is to the Muslims; Muslims should respect the sentiments of their Hindu brethren and voluntarily hand over the structure for constructing the Ram Temple.”

By JNU historians, I meant the Leftist historians such as Irfan Habib, Romila Thapar, DN Jha, Bipin Chandra and RS Sharma who do not want to see a solution to the Ayodhya issue.

Till the Allahabad High Court judgment came out on September 30, 2010, these historians maintained that there was no temple beneath the Babri mosque.

I remember speaking to several Muslim groups who were negotiating with the Hindus at the time, and most of them were in favor of an amicable solution.

The matter could have ended if the Leftist historians had not brainwashed the Muslim stakeholders and prevented a breakthrough.

A section of the media today has quoted historians like KN Panikkar who have questioned the timing and intention of my book I, an Indian.

They have also accused me of serving the interests of the Sangh Parivar ahead of assembly elections in some states, including Kerala from where I hail.

I am deeply pained at this.

As I have said earlier, I have held this view for four decades.

I am not new to facing criticism and threats for my beliefs.

At different points in my career, I have not only faced a backlash from Leftist historians but also the radical Right, such as the VHP and Bajrang Dal, and powerful politicians like Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, for speaking the truth.

I have even successfully negotiated with dacoits like Nirbhay Gurjar and the Naxals of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh for the conservation of monuments.

When I was a superintending archaeologist of the Patna circle between 1997 and 2001, some Hindu fringe elements tried to encroach upon Sher Shah’s tomb in Sasaram.

After the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) failed to get any support from the local administration, we moved the Patna High Court and obtained a stay on the encroachment.

Syed Shahabuddin, the fiery Muslim leader who was associated with the Babri Masjid demolition case, wrote a letter to the then Union culture minister Ananth Kumar in 2000, praising the ASI’s initiative.

Similarly, in Agra, VHP and Bajrang Dal activists started extending a 20th century temple within 500m radius of the Taj Mahal when I was a superintending archaeologist of the Agra Circle between 2001 and 2003.

The ASI raised objections over their attempt.

The VHP activists attacked my office, broke all furniture.

I was fortunate to escape five minutes before the mob came.

In spite of the attack, I demolished the illegal structure.

In fact, I can clearly say that Hindu communalism is on the rise in India today because of Islamic fundamentalism.

Hindus and Muslims can still sit together today and reach a solution provided Leftist historians don’t interfere. They must show maturity now. Whatever has happened has happened.

An attempt by the Marxists to sabotage India’s history has been brought to light by an eminent archaeologist.

KK Mohammed, former regional director, Archaeological Survey of India has said that Prof Irfan Habib, a widely respected [or is it – reviled?] Marxist historian, tried to scuttle and sabotage the former’s research findings about Ibadat Khana (House of Worship), built in 1575 by Emperor Akbar.

It was a team of archaeologists led by Prof Mohammed who successfully and scientifically excavated the Ibadat Khana, situated between Fatehpur Sikri and Jodhabai Mahal in New Delhi and described it as a symbol of Akbar’s secularism.

Mohammed, who shot into international fame when he led Barack Obama, the US president who visited India in 2011 for a study tour to historical landmarks in New Delhi like Humayun’s Tomb, has come out with startling revelations about how a group of historians led by Prof Habib manipulated the historical research and excavations in the country.

“Prof Habib was bent upon destroying the research findings on Ibadat Khana, an internationally recognized prayer and debating hall built by Akbar,” Mohammed writes in his autobiography Njan Enna Bharatheeyan (Me, the Indian).

Mohammed also stands out in Indian society as the first devote Muslim who scientifically proved that the controversial Babri Masjid at Ayodhya was constructed over the ruins of a Ram temple.

The remnants of Ibadat Khana was excavated by Mohammed and his team under the overall guidance of Prof Khaliq Ahmed Nizami, the then head of the department of history and Prof RC Gaur of AMU.

Mohammed, then an assistant archaeologist in AMU was attracted by the writings on Ibadat Khana by historians from Persia and a 1605 painting by Nar Singh, a painter in the court of Akbar.

Ibadat Khana was built by Akbar to serve as a venue for colloquiums on spirituality and religions by scholars who frequented his court.

Some of the regulars in his court were Rodolfo Acqaviva and Francisco Henriques, two Jewish priests from the Europe.

Ibadat Khana was a subject on which Lord Tennyson wrote the poem Akbar’s Dreams.

Mohammed has given an exciting account of the excavation.

By the time the excavation was completed in 1984, Prof Habib was re-appointed as the HoD of history in AMU.

“I was summoned by Prof Habib to his chamber and ordered me to give in writing that what we excavated was not Ibadat Khana. I stood my ground and reminded Prof Habib that he was only a historian while I was an archaeologist,” said Mohammed.

Habib was taken aback by the confidence of Mohammed and gave up his efforts.

Mohammed said Habib’s animosity towards him began even as he applied for the post of a research scholar in AMU while the letter was the HoD.

“Prof Habib and his friends do not want anything which they dislike to happen in their domain. They use all kid of evil techniques to demolish and destroy the careers of students whom they do not like,” said Mohammed.

Prof MGS Narayanan, former chairman, Indian Council of Historical Research, who has written the foreword, said that a cartel of historians control the historical research in the country to further their vested interests.

“They will resort to any extreme measure to finish off people whom they do not like. Prof Habib favours people who sing paeans,” writes Prof Narayanan.
