Karachi: Four Hindu doctors have been gunned down in Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, sparking fears and panic among the minority community. The doctors were gunned down yesterday at their clinic in Chak town close to Shikarpur.
Dr Ramesh Kumar, a former member of provincial assembly and chief patron of Pakistan Hindu Council, confirmed that Dr Ashok, Dr Naresh, Dr Ajeet and Dr Satia Paul were killed by armed assailants while working in their clinic.
“This is not the first time such an incident has taken place where members of our community have been targeted. What is of concern is that the law enforcement agencies tend to support the criminals involved in such acts,” Dr Kumar said.
“There is a strong population of around 50,000 Hindus in Chak so for such an incident to happen is bad and the government must take notice of it and provide protection to the minorities,” Kumar demanded.
Police said they had arrested two of the people involved in the killings and were searching for the other culprits. A police official confirmed that the killings could have been the result of a dispute between some Hindus and the local Bhaya Baradari that took place two weeks back over a Hindu girl.
Kumar said minorities were well protected and secure military strongman Pervez Musharraf was the president but now they had become prey to open terrorism and crime. Condemning the murders, the Pakistan Hindu Council appealed to President Asif Zardari, the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Army chief to take note of the targeting of Hindus in parts of Sindh.

A threat to multilayered secular cultures

Thousands of young people attended Salman Ahmad’s Sufi Junoon concert in 2008, ignoring the threat of the chairman of the United Jihad Council (UJC), Syed Salahuddin to kill Salman Ahmad if he came to Srinagar and performed during the inauguration of the Institute of Kashmir Studies, established by the South Asia Foundation.

Wahabism, with enormous Saudi petrodollars at its disposal, has wrought havoc worldwide. The writer travels back to Kashmir, Kerala, Lahore, and Indonesia of some decades ago to get a measure of the tragic and vicious effects — and hopes resilient, multilayered secular cultures will be able to fight back.

I am happy that finally someone has had the courage to frankly articulate the suppressed hopes and fears of mainstream Muslims in India. Addressing a public meeting of the Sufi Maha Panchayat at Muradabad, Maulana Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kachochavi declared: “Hamey Wahabiyon ki na Immanat kabool hai, na kayadat Kabul (We reject both the belief and politics of the Wahabis”). The gathering attended by thousands of Shia and Sunni Muslims applauded as he said: “lf anyone knocks on your door with the message of extremism, hand him over to the nearest police station.”

Politics is the bane of all religions. But unlike other faiths, the Wahabis have enormous petrodollars at their disposal, funded by the so-called Saudi charities that have wrought havoc worldwide. Personally for me, who have known diverse cultures from the north to the southern tip of India, it is not hearsay but a veritable reality. My ancestors hailed from Kashmir; I lived in the state of Travancore and went to school in Trivandrum; then I joined the Hindu University in Benares; and finally graduated from the Government College in Lahore. Excerpts from the story (to be published by Penguin India titled, Cultures & Vultures) are presented here to give a glimpse of the politics and violence with which the Wahabi vultures are tearing apart Kashmir’s syncretic Sufi-Bhakti-Rishi culture, Kerala’s unique matrilineal society, Pakistan’s Sufi Islam, and Indonesia’s indigenous kebatinan culture.

In Kashmir

Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s comment, “In the darkness engulfing the subcontinent the only ray of light came from Kashmir,” I put up a Peace Campaign exhibition of my photographs in Delhi that was inaugurated on November 10, 1948 by Sheikh Abdullah. It prompted him to invite me to Srinagar to participate in the National Cultural Front (NCF) he had established to ward off the tribal Kabaili invaders from Pakistan.

On arrival at Srinagar, I met Khawaja Ahmad Abbas, the veteran journalist, at the airport and he drove me to the riverside guesthouse where the NCF group was staying. The group comprised a number of well-known writers. They had joined hands with visual artists including Raza, a Muslim from Bombay, and Anand, a Hindu, and Amar Singh, a Sikh, both from Amritsar. Then there was Sheila Bhatia, an active member of the Indian People’s Theatre Association from Lahore, who inspired Kashmiri women from all the communities with her folk songs and plays.

But no group or individual was as effective in promoting secular culture at the grassroots as the ‘coolie poet,’ Aasi. I was amazed to see him standing in the middle of Srinagar’s Lal Chowk surrounded by crowds listening to the oral poetry of this illiterate labourer. He was a devotee of the Kashmir’s patron Sufi saint, Hazrat Nuruddin Nurani, known as Nund Rishi like the legendary Hindu sages. Aasi was a true interpolator of Kashmir’s Sufi-Bhakti-Rishi culture that Pakistan’s ISI has been destroying since the 1965 Operation Gibraltar by infiltrating Wahabi terrorists to inflict “a thousand cuts” and incite a rebellion in Kashmir.

Among the ferocious vultures was the chairman of the United Jihad Council, Syed Salahuddin, who in 2008 threatened to kill Salman Ahmad if his Sufi concert Junoon came to perform during the inauguration of the Institute of Kashmir Studies, established by the South Asia Foundation. Salman ignored the threat and called on the jihadis to “join Junoon in a musical jihad” instead of fear mongering and threatening to boycott the concert. The Sufi culture triumphed as thousands of young people flocked to hear Junoon, a memorable event widely covered by the Indian as well as international media. But the Pakistani jihadi gangsters have not given up their Wahabi agenda invoking over a 100 suras (verses) in the Quran that call on Muslims to kill or maim infidels. Funded by the ISI, they continue to impose the 7th century Shariah law of the Arabian Desert on the 21st century culture of the civilised people living in the beautiful fertile valley of Kashmir.

Kerala

Shortly after my father Dodger Singh, a professor at the Hindu University in Benares, took up a job offered to him by the Maharaja of Travancore, my mother Sumitra Kaur was on the lookout for a maidservant. One day, standing in the porch of our villa, she spotted two Malayali women walking barefoot. They were simply dressed, wearing traditional mundus and blouses. Attracted by my mother’s Punjabi salwar-kamiz and dupatta-covered head, they approached her curiously as my sister interpreted; women in Punjab were discouraged from learning English. They had recently returned from the United States, having graduated from Harvard University. Indeed they were looking for a job but not the kind my mother had in mind. She felt so small and ashamed. Later she told her husband that the Punjabi adage, ‘one can identify a person’s status and level of education by looking at the shoes,’ was totally invalid in Travancore. Even the Maharaja came barefoot to open the ceramic factory that my father built.

The two women, a Hindu and her Muslim friend, told Ranjeeta that even though they were not Christians, the Anglican missionaries had offered them the scholarships. They gave my sister the address of the missionary school in case she wanted to apply for a scholarship to study abroad.

Today a Wahabi outfit euphemistically named Popular Front of India (PFI) is teaching Shariah law in the madrassas where boys and girls are segregated. Muslim girls are obliged to wear ‘Islamic clothes,’ including the hijab. In Kasargod, a PFI stronghold, Rayana Khasi, a journalist was threatened for wearing jeans. Uniformed Muslim youngsters are marching in ‘Freedom Parades,’ like the danda-wielding fascists of the Hindu Right.

The undertow of Wahabi intolerance and violence was highlighted on July 4, 2010, when Muslim fanatics brutally attacked T.J. Joseph, a Newman College lecturer in the town of Thodupuzha. They chopped off the palm of his hand for the ‘crime’ of framing a question for an examination of his students based on a text written by the filmmaker Kunhi Mohammed. The college authorities, threatened by the rioting fanatics, cowered and dismissed Mr. Joseph. They agreed to reconsider their action only if “the Muslim community made an appeal to reinstate him, or the court issued an order to that effect.”

Pakistan

Faiz Ahmed Faiz, my senior at Lahore’s Government College, visited Paris in 1983, a few months before he died. I had invited a number of my Indian and Pakistani Urdu-speaking friends to a reception in his honour. He was sitting next to me and noticed tears rolling down my cheeks as he recited his poignant compositions. As he was leaving, the great poet put his hand on my knee and said: “India’s Partition was a British plot to divide and rule the subcontinent that succeeded in Pakistan because of the nexus between the military dictators and the jihadists.”

Faiz was obviously alluding to General Zia-ul-Haq after he grabbed power in a 1977 coup and then set out to break the Sufi link that united Pakistan with India’s traditional secular and pluralist culture by enforcing Wahabi Islam funded by Saudi Arabia. The Sufi shrines were destroyed or closed and all forms of cultural activity categorised as blasphemous, including figurative painting, singing, dancing, and music.

It was only when I visited Lahore in search of my roots in 1996 that I realised the havoc caused by Wahabi politics. There was no trace of my grandfather’s sprawling joint family house in which I was born. And when I went to see the New Hostel of the Government College, I was stunned to see black graffiti scribbled on the walls in Urdu: “Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and Ahmadiyas are enemies of Islam.” The warden reluctantly led me to the cubicle in which I had lived for about four years. I found that the door had been smashed open and inside there was only a dirty carpet spread on the floor. Equally shocking was to find later that there were no students in the common dining room on the first floor. Instead a number of militants with Kalashnikov rifles hung on their shoulders were joking and laughing as they swallowed the food cooked for the college alumni. It was a far cry from the glamorous boarding house in which I had once lived in the ‘Paris of the Orient.’

Indonesia

I married Dhyanawati, called Kiki, daughter of the Indonesian ambassador in Sweden in 1963 while I was posted as a first secretary at the Indian Embassy in Stockholm. I was greatly impressed by the unique multi-layered syncretic culture of Indonesia with the largest Muslim population in the world. It was amazing to see during a previous visit to Bali common people performing the Mahabharata and Ramayana by the roadside and the marvellous wayang kulit puppet shows depicting the Indian epics.

Shortly after our marriage, Kiki and I arrived in New Delhi and I joined the UN division in the Ministry of External Affairs. We attended many diplomatic receptions and I was glad that as an ambassador’s daughter, Kiki enabled me to get acquainted with several senior foreign diplomats. But I was disconcerted to find that the Saudi Ambassador invariably made a beeline to my wife, took her aside, and brainwashed her about Wahabi Islam. He insisted that she must pray five times a day. Later I learned that his attempt to pressurise my wife was not an isolated case. He was working under instructions from his government.

Since then, in a matter of four decades, the Saudis have spent millions of petrodollars to build hundreds of Wahabi mosques and thousands of madrassas and largely succeeded in effacing Indonesia’s syncretic culture.

I also learned to my dismay that, inspired by the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddha idols by Taliban vandals in Afghanistan, Wahabi extremists in Java made several attempts to damage the 8th-9th century Buddhist temple of Borobodur, a world heritage site. The terrorists who carried out the 2002 bombings in Bali were also Wahabi fanatics who killed more than 200 tourists in a suicide bomb explosion in a bar.

Hopefully, the resilient multi-layered syncretic culture of Indonesia will be able to prevent the Wahabis from turning this picturesque secular country into another Pakistan where rose petals are being showered on the killer of the liberal Punjab governor Salman Taseer, and the judge who sentenced the assassin to death has since fled the country in fear for his life.

Some History of Islam

The title of this article was – What is Islam in Hinduism. This is a wrong title. There cannot be Islam in the Vedic dharma because Islam did not exist when the Vedic dharma was born millenniums ago. This article says that the Muslims worship Shiva linga in Kaba, but they do not recognize Shiva as God. They have a source of holy water, but they do not recognize it as the water of holy river Gangaa. The concept of God as given in Koran is totally different from that of any Vedic God. –Skanda987.

Long before Islam came in to existence, Kaaba, in Mecca in Saudi Arabia was a pilgrimage site. The word Kaaba might have come from the Tamil Language which originated around 1700BC. In Tamil Nadu Kabaalishwaran temple is Lord Shiva’s temple and Kabaali refers to Lord Shiva. The black stone at Kaaba is held sacred and holy in Islam and is called “Hajre Aswad” from the Sanskrit word Sanghey Ashweta or Non-white stone. The Shiva Lingam is also called Sanghey Ashweta. So what is in Kaaba could be the same what Hindus worship.

The pedestal Maqam-E-Ibrahim at the centre of the Kaaba is octagonal in shape. In Hinduism, the pedestal of Brahma the creator is also octagonal in shape. Muslim pilgrims visiting the Kaaba temple go around it seven times. In no other mosque does the circumambulation prevail. Hindus invariably circumambulate or Pradakshina, around their deities. This is yet another proof that the Kaaba shrine is a pre-Islamic. In Shiva temples Hindus always practice circumambulation or Pradakshina. Just as in Hinduism, the custom of circumambulation by muslim pilgrims around the entire Kaaba building seven times shows that the claim that in Islam they don’t worship stones is not true.

Allah was one of the deities in Kaaba long before Islam was founded. It might come as a stunning revelation to many that the word `ALLAH’ itself is Sanskrit. In Sanskrit language Allah, Akka and Amba are synonyms. (Not true. –Skanda987) They signify a goddess or mother. The term `ALLAH’ forms part of Sanskrit chants invoking goddess Durga, also known as Bhavani, Chandi and Mahishasur-mardini. The Islamic word for God is., therefore, not an innovation but the ancient Sanskrit appellation retained and continued by Islam. Allah means mother or goddess and mother goddess.

The King Vikramaditya inscription was found on a gold dish hung inside the Kaaba shrine in Mecca, proving beyond doubt that the Arabian Peninsula formed a part of his Indian Empire. (Ref: page 315 of a volume known as `Sayar-ul-Okul’ treasured in the Makhtab-e-Sultania library in Istanbul, Turkey). King Vikrama’s preachers had succeeded in spreading the Vedic Hindu sacred scriptures in Arabia and Arabs were once followers of the Indian Vedic way of life. The annual fair known as OKAJ which used to be held every year around the Kaaba temple in Mecca and the present annual hajj of the Muslims to the Kaaba is of earlier pre-Islamic congregation. . Even to this day ancient Siva emblems can be seen. It is the Shankara (Siva) stone that Muslim pilgrims reverently touch and kiss in the Kaaba.

Muslims shave their head and beard and don special sacred attire that consists of two seamless sheets of white cloth. One is to be worn round the waist and the other over the shoulders. Both these rites are remnants of the old Vedic practice of entering Hindu temples clean and with holy seamless white sheets. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, the Kaaba has 360 idols. Traditional accounts mention that one of the deities among the 360 destroyed when the place was stormed was that of Saturn; another was of the Moon and yet another was one called Allah. That shows that in the Kaaba the Arabs worshipped the nine planets in pre-Islamic days. In India the practice of `Navagraha’ puja, that is worship of the nine planets, is still in vogue. Two of these nine are Saturn and Moon. In India the crescent moon is always painted across the forehead of the Siva symbol. Since that symbol was associated with the Siva emblem in Kaaba it came to be grafted on the flag of Islam.

The Hindu Vedic letter in Sanskrit “OM” if seen in a mirror one can see the Arabic numbers 786 and this is the most sacred number for Muslims and copies of the Arabic Koran have the mysterious figure 786 imprinted on them. In their ignorance simply they do not realize that this special number is nothing more than the holiest of Vedic symbols misread and none of the Arabic scholar has been able to determine how they chose 786 as the sacred for them. In short muslims are also going around Siva Lingam at Kaaba, seven times as Hindus go around it seven times.

A few miles away from Mecca are a big signboard which bars the entry of any non-Muslim into the area. This is a reminder of the days when the Kaaba was stormed and captured solely for the newly established faith of Islam. The object in barring entry of non-Muslims was obviously to prevent its recapture. Kaaba is clothed in a black shroud. This custom also originated from the days when it was thought necessary to discourage its recapture by camouflaging it.

Another Hindu tradition associated with the Kaaba is that of the sacred stream Ganga (sacred waters of the Ganges river). According to the Hindu tradition Ganga is also inseparable from the Shiva emblem as the crescent moon. Wherever there is a Siva emblem, Ganga must co-exist. True to that association a sacred fount exists near the Kaaba. Its water is held sacred because it has been traditionally regarded as Ganga since pre-Islamic times (Zam-Zam water).

Dreadful violence by Islam since its inception and last 1000 years in India has got nothing to do with Britain. Even before the British came, they committed horrible massacres, rapes, abduction of women, destroyed over 60,000 temples, 2300 by Aurangzeb alone and converted millions of people to Islam through sword and polygamy.

British subdued both Hindus and Muslims but lost much of their power in the Second World War. As soon as Muslims had a chance, the most liberal Muslim Jinnah decided to form a separate nation. He put it to vote and more than 99% of Muslims said they want a separate country. On 14th August, 1946, he declared ‘Direct Action’ day which in plain words meant kill all the Hindus you can. In Bengal, they started in Calcutta but there were many Hindus there so there was some resistance. So, they concentrated their genocide of Hindus action in majority Muslim areas like Noakhali.

Here are some other statistics after 1947. In Pakistan, Hindus reduced from 15% to less than 1%, In Bangladesh, Hindus reduced from 33% to less than 8%, In Kashmir, Hindus reduced from 46% to 24%, in India, Muslims increased from 8% to 18%.

OVER 50% OF QURAN IS FULL OF SUCH VERSES AS UNDER. MANY VERSES OF QURAN ARE COPIED FROM OTHER ANCIENT SCRIPTURES. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE VERSE OF HATRED AND PREJUDICE, IN ANY HINDU SCRIPTURE AS (the) HATRED AND PREJUDICE SPEWED IN VERSES OF QURAN. !!

Original: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْكُتِبَعَلَيْكُمُ الْقِصَاصُ فِي الْقَتْلَى الْحُرُّ بِالْحُرِّ وَالْعَبْدُ بِالْعَبْدِوَالأُنثَىبِالأُنثَى فَمَنْ عُفِيَ لَهُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ شَيْءٌ فَاتِّبَاعٌ بِالْمَعْرُوفِوَأَدَاءإِلَيْهِ بِإِحْسَانٍ ذَلِكَ تَخْفِيفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ فَمَنِ اعْتَدَىبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَلَهُ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 2:178

Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.
Original: كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تَكْرَهُواْشَيْئاً وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تُحِبُّواْ شَيْئاً وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْوَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 2:216

Do not marry unbelieving women (idolaters), until they believe: A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever, even though he allures you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the Fire. But Allah beckons by His Grace to the Garden (of bliss) and forgiveness, and makes His Signs clear to mankind: That they may celebrate His praise.
Original: وَلاَ تَنكِحُواْ الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَّ وَلأَمَةٌ مُّؤْمِنَةٌ خَيْرٌمِّن مُّشْرِكَةٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ وَلاَ تُنكِحُواْ الْمُشِرِكِينَ حَتَّىيُؤْمِنُواْ وَلَعَبْدٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكُمْأُوْلَـئِكَيَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَاللّهُ يَدْعُوَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِبِإِذْنِهِوَيُبَيِّنُ آيَاتِهِ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 2:221

Some of them believed, and some of them averted their faces from him: And enough is Hell for a burning fire.
Original: فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ آمَنَ بِهِ وَمِنْهُم مَّن صَدَّ عَنْهُ وَكَفَى بِجَهَنَّمَسَعِيراً

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 4:55

Those who reject our Signs, We shall soon cast into the Fire: as often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty: for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.
Original: إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا سَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِمْ نَاراً كُلَّمَانَضِجَتْجُلُودُهُمْ بَدَّلْنَاهُمْ جُلُوداً غَيْرَهَا لِيَذُوقُواْ الْعَذَابَ إِنَّاللّهَكَانَ عَزِيزاً حَكِيماً

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 4:56

They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks;
Original: وَدُّواْلَوْتَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواْ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَاء فَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْأَوْلِيَاءحَتَّىَ يُهَاجِرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَاقْتُلُوهُمْحَيْثُ وَجَدتَّمُوهُمْ وَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْ وَلِيّاً وَلاَ نَصِيراً

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 4:89

Allah has stirred up enmity and hatred among Christians.
Original: وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ قَالُواْ إِنَّا نَصَارَى أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَهُمْفَنَسُواْ حَظّاً مِّمَّا ذُكِّرُواْ بِهِ فَأَغْرَيْنَا بَيْنَهُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَوَالْبَغْضَاء إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَسَوْفَ يُنَبِّئُهُمُ اللّهُبِمَا كَانُواْ يَصْنَعُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:14

Christians are disbelievers for believing in the divinity of Christ.
Original: لَّقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَآلُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُابْنُ مَرْيَمَ قُلْ فَمَن يَمْلِكُ مِنَ اللّهِ شَيْئاً إِنْ أَرَادَأَن يُهْلِكَ الْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُ وَمَن فِيالأَرْضِ جَمِيعاً وَلِلّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِوَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَاللّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:17

Disbelievers will have a painful doom.
Original: إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْ أَنَّلَهُم مَّا فِي الأَرْضِ جَمِيعاً وَمِثْلَهُ مَعَهُ لِيَفْتَدُواْ بِهِ مِنْعَذَابِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَا تُقُبِّلَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:36

Those who make war with Allah and his messenger will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. That is how they will be treated in this world, and in the next they will have an awful doom.
Original: إِنَّمَاجَزَاء الَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِي الأَرْضِفَسَاداً أَن يُقَتَّلُواْ أَوْ يُصَلَّبُواْ أَوْ تُقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيهِمْوَأَرْجُلُهُم مِّنْ خِلافٍ أَوْ يُنفَوْاْ مِنَ الأَرْضِ ذَلِكَلَهُمْ خِزْيٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَلَهُمْ فِي الآخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:33

Disbelievers will want to come out of the Fire, but will not. Their will be a lasting doom.
Original: يُرِيدُونَ أَن يَخْرُجُواْ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَا هُم بِخَارِجِينَ مِنْهَاوَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:37

Life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, and tooth for tooth. Non-muslims are wrong doers.
Original: وَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْفِيهَا أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالْعَيْنَ بِالْعَيْنِ وَالأَنفَبِالأَنفِ وَالأُذُنَ بِالأُذُنِ وَالسِّنَّ بِالسِّنِّ وَالْجُرُوحَقِصَاصٌ فَمَن تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَةٌ لَّهُ وَمَنلَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أنزَلَ اللّهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:45

Jews and Christians are evil-livers.
Original: قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ هَلْ تَنقِمُونَ مِنَّا إِلاَّأَنْ آمَنَّابِاللّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلُ وَأَنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْفَاسِقُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:59

Christians will be burned in the Fire.
Original: لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ هُوَالْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَقَالَ الْمَسِيحُ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اعْبُدُواْاللّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ مَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللّهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللّهُعَلَيهِالْجَنَّةَ وَمَأْوَاهُ النَّارُ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:72

Muslims that make friends with disbelievers will face a doom prepared for them by Allah.
Original: تَرَى كَثِيراً مِّنْهُمْيَتَوَلَّوْنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَبِئْسَ مَا قَدَّمَتْ لَهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْأَن سَخِطَ اللّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَفِي الْعَذَابِ هُمْ خَالِدُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:80

Disbelievers will be owners of hell-fire.
Original: وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَكَذَّبُواْبِآيَاتِنَا أُوْلَـئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 5:86

Those who disbelieve will be forced to drink boiling water, and will face a painful doom.
Original: وَذَرِ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْدِينَهُمْ لَعِباً وَلَهْواً وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَذَكِّرْ بِهِأَن تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ اللّهِ وَلِيٌّوَلاَ شَفِيعٌ وَإِن تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍ لاَّ يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَا أُوْلَـئِكَالَّذِينَ أُبْسِلُواْ بِمَا كَسَبُواْ لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ وَعَذَابٌأَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 6:70

Disbelievers will be excluded from heaven. Theirs will be a bed of hell.
Original: إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْبِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُواْ عَنْهَا لاَ تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءوَلاَ يَدْخُلُونَالْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى يَلِجَ الْجَمَلُ فِي سَمِّ الْخِيَاطِ وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِيالْمُجْرِمِينَ
لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍوَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 7:40�41

Allah turns Jews into apes!
Original: فَلَمَّا عَتَوْاْ عَن مَّا نُهُواْ عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُواْ قِرَدَةًخَاسِئِينَ

Those that the Muslims killed were not really killed by them. It was Allah who did the killing.
Original: فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوهُمْ وَلَـكِنَّ اللّهَ قَتَلَهُمْ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَوَلَـكِنَّ اللّهَ رَمَى وَلِيُبْلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْهُ بَلاء حَسَناًإِنَّ اللّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 8:17

The angels smite the face and backs of disbelievers, saying: “Taste the punishment of burning!”
Original: وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ يَتَوَفَّى الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ الْمَلآئِكَةُ يَضْرِبُونَوُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ وَذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ

Slay the idolaters wherever you find them.
Original: فَإِذَا انسَلَخَ الأَشْهُرُالْحُرُمُفَاقْتُلُواْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ وَخُذُوهُمْ وَاحْصُرُوهُمْوَاقْعُدُواْ لَهُمْ كُلَّ مَرْصَدٍ فَإِن تَابُواْ وَأَقَامُواْ الصَّلاَةَوَآتَوُاْ الزَّكَاةَ فَخَلُّواْ سَبِيلَهُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 9:5
Christians and Jews are perverse. Allah himself fights against them.
Original: وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ عُزَيْرٌ ابْنُ اللّهِ وَقَالَتْ النَّصَارَىالْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ اللّهِ ذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُم بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْيُضَاهِؤُونَ قَوْلَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَبْلُ قَاتَلَهُمُاللّهُ أَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 9:30
Those who oppose Allah and His messenger will burn in the fire of hell.
Original: أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّهُمَن يُحَادِدِ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَأَنَّ لَهُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِداً فِيهَاذَلِكَ الْخِزْيُ الْعَظِيمُ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 9:63

Fight the disbelievers and hypocrites. Be harsh with them. They are all going to hell anyway.
Original: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ جَاهِدِ الْكُفَّارَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ وَاغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْوَمَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 9:73
Believers must fight for Allah. They must kill and be killed , and are bound to do so by the Torah, Gospel, and Quran. But Allah will reward them for it.
Original: إِنَّ اللّهَ اشْتَرَى مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمبِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الجَنَّةَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَوَيُقْتَلُونَ وَعْداً عَلَيْهِ حَقّاً فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنجِيلِوَالْقُرْآنِ وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللّهِ فَاسْتَبْشِرُواْبِبَيْعِكُمُ الَّذِي بَايَعْتُم بِهِ وَذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 9:111

Disbelievers will have a boiling drink and a painful doom.
Original: إِلَيْهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعاً وَعْدَ اللّهِ حَقّاً إِنَّهُيَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْالصَّالِحَاتِبِالْقِسْطِ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ وَعَذَابٌأَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 10:4

Allah made a roof fall in to kill unbelievers. “And the doom came on them whence they knew not.”
Original: قَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْفَأَتَى اللّهُ بُنْيَانَهُم مِّنَ الْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّقْفُمِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَتَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 16:26

Allah has prepared a Fire for the disbelievers. When they want a shower, Allah will give them a shower of molten lead to burn their faces.
Original: وَقُلِ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ فَمَن شَاء فَلْيُؤْمِنوَمَنشَاء فَلْيَكْفُرْ إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ نَاراً أَحَاطَ بِهِمْ سُرَادِقُهَاوَإِن يَسْتَغِيثُوا يُغَاثُوا بِمَاء كَالْمُهْلِ يَشْوِي الْوُجُوهَ بِئْسَالشَّرَابُ وَسَاءتْ مُرْتَفَقاً

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 18:29

Disbelievers will not be able to put out the fire on their faces and backs. They will be stupefied and no one will help them.
Original: لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا حِينَلَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ النَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَاهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَايَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 21:39�40

Disbelievers will wear garments of fire, boiling fluid will be poured on their heads, their bellies and skin will be melted, they will be tormented with iron hooks, and when they try to escape they will be driven back with the taunt: Taste the doom of burning.
Original: هَذَانِ خَصْمَانِ اخْتَصَمُوافِي رَبِّهِمْ فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا قُطِّعَتْ لَهُمْ ثِيَابٌ مِّن نَّارٍ يُصَبُّمِن فَوْقِ رُؤُوسِهِمُ الْحَمِيمُ
يُصْهَرُ بِهِ مَا فِي بُطُونِهِمْوَالْجُلُودُ
وَلَهُم مَّقَامِعُ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ
كُلَّمَا أَرَادُواأَن يَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا مِنْ غَمٍّ أُعِيدُوا فِيهَا وَذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 22:19�22

Those who believe in another god are doomed.
Original: فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهاً آخَرَفَتَكُونَمِنَ الْمُعَذَّبِينَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 26:213

Allah cast panic into the hearts of the disbelievers. He killed some, and enslaved others.
Original: وَرَدَّاللَّهُ الَّذِينَكَفَرُوا بِغَيْظِهِمْ لَمْ يَنَالُوا خَيْراً وَكَفَى اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَالْقِتَالَوَكَانَ اللَّهُ قَوِيّاً عَزِيزاً
وَأَنزَلَ الَّذِينَ ظَاهَرُوهُم مِّنْأَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مِن صَيَاصِيهِمْ وَقَذَفَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الرُّعْبَفَرِيقاً تَقْتُلُونَ وَتَأْسِرُونَ فَرِيقاً

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 33:25�26

Ignore disbelievers and their poisonous talk.
Original: وَلَا تُطِعِ الْكَافِرِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَوَدَعْ أَذَاهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلاً

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 33:48

Those who oppose Islam will be slain with a fierce slaughter.
Original: لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالَّذِينَفِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْمُرْجِفُونَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَبِهِمْ ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُونَكَ فِيهَا إِلَّا قَلِيلاً
مَلْعُونِينَأَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوا أُخِذُوا وَقُتِّلُوا تَقْتِيلاً

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 33:60�61
Allah has destroyed many generations.
Original: كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوْا وَلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 38:3

Those who deny the Scripture and Allah’s messengers will be dragged through boiling water and thrust into the Fire.
Original: الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوابِالْكِتَابِ وَبِمَا أَرْسَلْنَا بِهِ رُسُلَنَا فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
إِذِ الْأَغْلَالُ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَالسَّلَاسِلُ يُسْحَبُونَ
فِي الْحَمِيمِ ثُمَّ فِي النَّارِ يُسْجَرُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 40:70�72

Non-muslims will be tormented forever in the Fire. Allah will not have any mercy on them.
Original: فَإِن يَصْبِرُوا فَالنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَّهُمْ وَإِنيَسْتَعْتِبُوا فَمَا هُم مِّنَ الْمُعْتَبِينَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 41:24

Allah will taunt the disbelievers that he torments in the fire, saying: “Taste the doom for that ye disbelieved.”
Original: وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواعَلَى النَّارِأَلَيْسَ هَذَا بِالْحَقِّ قَالُوا بَلَى وَرَبِّنَا قَالَ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَبِمَاكُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

The Qur’an (القرآن), Sura 46:34

Smite the necks of the disbelievers whenever you fight against them. Those who die fighting for Allah will be rewarded.

Photoshopped Mohammed

Photoshopping is slang for the digital editing of photos. In photoshopping, images are edited and manipulated to create an illusion or deception.
Helicopter Shark Mohammed
The ‘Helicopter_Shark’ was a famous example of photo manipulation in which two photographs were digitally combined to give the impression that a shark was leaping from the water to attack a military helicopter. Modern Islamic apologetics go to similar lengths to manipulate the biography of Mohammed even adding elements not in the foundational texts. A typical example of Islamic ‘helicopter shark’ is this story:

There was a lady who threw garbage in the path of the Prophet on a daily basis. One day, she didn‘t do it. The prophet went to inquire about her health, because he thought she might be sick. This lady ended up converting to Islam.

There is no reference provided for the preceding, because it is not Islamic. The actual story is from the life of Abdul Baha, a founder of Baha’iism that has been photoshopped into Mohammed’s biography by modern Muslim apologists.
The real story of a woman who insulted Mohammed is found below with its reference:

A Jewish woman used to insult the Prophet and say bad things about him, so a man strangled her until she died, and the Prophet ruled that no blood money was due in this case. (Abu Dawud 4349)

Glamour Photo Mohammed
In glamour photos, the term “airbrushing” describes the removal of physical imperfections of photo models or the enhancement of their attributes in an attempt to fabricate an image of unrealistic female perfection.

Modern Muslims similarly create an ‘airbrushed’ or ‘photoshopped’ image of Mohammed by leaving out his offensive traits and enhancing any qualities that appeal to our modern concerns for human rights and civil liberties.

Here is an example of ‘airbrushed’ Mohammed found on an Islamic website:

“He (Mohammed) suffered from all but harmed none. He was affectionate and loving towards his friends and forgiving and merciful towards his enemies. He was sincere and honest in his mission; good and fair in his dealings; and just in deciding affairs of friends as well as of enemies. In short, all goodness and excellence have been combined in the person and personality of Hazrat Mohammed”.

However, the unphotoshopped Mohammed is neither affectionate nor merciful:

“Aisha, the Mother of the Faithful, was asked, ‘How did the Messenger of Allah behave?’ She replied, ‘His eye did not weep for anyone.’” Tabari VIII:40
Object Removal
A main aim in photo editing is the removal of unwanted objects in the photo. Before photoshopping, this was done by airbrushing. Stalin routinely airbrushed his enemies out of photographs. The term “airbrushed out” has come to mean rewriting history to pretend something was never there.

Contemporary academics have called the process of removing components from an image object removal. It is considered unethical because it is an intentional misrepresentation of historical facts.

‘Terrorists cannot be Muslims’ or can they?
One of the claims of modern Islamists is that ‘a terrorist cannot be a Muslim’.
Just after 9-11, the late Anwar Awlaki, mentor to notable terrorists, said, “There is no way that the people who did this (9-11) could be Muslim, and if they claim to be Muslim, then they have perverted their religion.” Awlaki’s later terrorism proved he did not believe his own definition.
By Awlaki’s definition, many leading Muslims of history are excluded from the religion of Islam: Osama Bin Laden was not a Muslim when he cast terror into the hearts of Americans on 9-11.
Sayeed Maududi was not a Muslim when he wrote: “Islam wishes to destroy all States and Governments anywhere on the face of the earth which are opposed to the ideology and programme of Islam.” Sayeed Abdul A’la Maududi, Jihad in Islam, p.9
Sultan Mehmet V was also not a Muslim when he signed the Universal Fatwa of 1915 sanctioning the genocide of three million of his Christian subjects.
Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406), was not a Muslim when he wrote, “the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and (the obligation to) convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force.” (emphasis added)
Tamurlane was not a Muslim when he wrote glowingly of his mass murders: ‘I had crossed the rivers Ganges and Jumna and I had sent many of the abominable infidels to hell, and had purified the land from their foul existence….Thanks to almighty Allah.”
Hajjaj, the governor of Iraq was not a Muslim when he ordered his general Qasim to “behave in such a way that no enemy of the true faith is left in that country”.
Mohammed’s successful general Khalid ibn Walid was not a Muslim when Mohammed sent him to destroy all the pagan temples of the neighboring tribes of Mecca. Khalid reached the Jazima tribe and asked them to say, “We are Muslims”. But they said, “We are Sabians” – whereupon Khalid slaughtered the whole tribe.
By Awlaki’s definition, Mohammed could not be a Muslim either. The Sira (his official biography) is filled with violent acts initiated by Mohammed. In the Sira, Mohammed orders or leads a violent act every six weeks resulting in assassination, plundering, enslavement, rape, genocide, ethnic cleansing and territorial conquest.
The Sira explicitly states that many detractors ran away because of Mohammed’s acts of terrorism. The Sira depicts Mohammed as a successful terrorist. Muslim apologists seldom refer to the Sira…object removal.
The Ethics of Manipulating Mohammed’s Image
In Islam, it is considered moral to manipulate Mohammed’s image to create a favorable impression with kafirs. The moral basis for photoshopping Mohammed’s ‘image’ is called taqiyya.
Taqiyya is sacred concealment for the advancement of Islamic political supremacism. Taqiyya is a form of verbal jihad used to defeat Islam’s opponents by using disinformation. Mohammed used taqiyya frequently in the Sira.
Taqiyya is a doctrine of disinformation endorsed by all branches of Islam. Governments of Islamic countries use taqiyya as a normative policy technique, especially in Shi’ite Iran where taqiyya has greater acceptability.
Taqiyya is basically a kind of object removal.
Our Reaction to Islamic Photoshopping
In light of Islam’s dualistic doctrine of taqiyya, should we ever take at face value the depictions of Mohammed invented by modern apologists of Islam? Or should we rigorously investigate them and do our own research into Islam’s foundational texts to determine whether they have been photoshopped?
Should we not compare the photoshopped versions of Islam with Islam’s canonical writers and spokesmen? Should we not study orthodox authorities of Islam such as Bukhari, Ibn Ishaq, Taymiyyah, Tabari, Nawawi, Ibn Kathir, since they represent Islam’s canonical consensus?
As we saw, Muslim apologists, like the late Anwar Awlaki, use taqiyya to justify misrepresentations of Mohammed’s biography or of the supremacist agenda of jihad, Mohammed’s method.
We need to ask: ‘Has this image of a non-violent Mohammed been photoshopped?’

Indian Muslims- Story of Enslavement

In the previous article http://satyagni. com/5258/who-are-indian-muslims/ we showed that all the Muslims of Indian subcontinent are descendants of Hindu ancestors. We also discussed how butchers from Arab and Central Asia invaded India, killed and converted Hindu ancestors of today’s Muslims to Islam. In this article we will show from Islamic sources the circumstances in which Hindu forefathers of subcontinent Muslims had to become slaves of Muslims first and then ultimately Muslims at the end.

Slavery formed a key component of the Islamic invasions to India. It is one thing for combatants to be killed on the battlefield or being taken as a prisoner of war. But slavery, during Islamic invasions to India, entered the arena of cities, towns and villages that were sacked by the invading Islamic armies. The enslaved men/women/children had to embrace Islam but that was no guarantee for freedom, as, these people ended up in slave markets in Arab lands, where they were purchased for a price and this price was another source to fill the coffers of the Islamic invaders.

Here is what is recorded in Farishtah (when Kalinjar was sacked by Aibak in 1202) – “fifty thousand kaniz va ghulam, having suffered slavery, were rewarded with the honour of Islam.” It is seen in Masalik-ul-Absar about Muhammad Tughlaq – “The Sultan never ceases to show the greatest zeal in making war upon infidels… Everyday thousands of slaves are sold at a very low price, so great is the number of prisoners.” Similarly Ibn Battutah records – “At (one) time there arrived in Delhi some female infidel captives, ten of whom the Vazir sent to me. I gave one of them to the man who had brought them to me, but he was not satisfied. My companion took three young girls, and I do not know what happened to the rest.”

He further writes that during the celebration of Id in the court of Muhammad bin Tughlaq, daughters of Hindu Rajas and those of commoners, captured during the course of the year were distributed among nobles (?), officers and important visitors from Arabia.” On the fourth day men slaves are married and on the fifth slave-girls. On the sixth day men and women slaves are married off.”

Slave taking by Islamic kings was a passionate act. And two Islamic invaders stand head and shoulders above the rest in this passion for slave taking. Mulfuzat-i-Timuri records that Timur Lane enslaved almost 100,000 people and of course we all know what happened to these slaves by the time Timur Lane went home. And the other passionate slave taker happens to be Mahmud Ghaznavi.

Utbi records that when Mahmoud attacked Punjab in 1014 – “slaves were so plentiful that they became very cheap; and men of respectability in their native land (India) were degraded by becoming slaves of common shop-keepers (in Ghazni).” Similarly, it is recorded in Farishtah (the year 1015 now) – “the Muhammadan army brought to Ghazni 200,000 captives so that the capital appeared like an Indian city, for every soldier of the army had several slaves and slave girls” Can you imagine, a normal free Hindu ending up as a slave in a Godforsaken place like Ghazni?

Slavery was a systematic enterprise in the Islamic scheme of things. Babur writes in his Memoirs that “there are two trade-marts on the land-route between Hindustan and Khurasan; one is Kabul, the other, Qandhar. (Route to Kabul was from Lahore, to Qandhar from Multan)… Down to Kabul every year …from Hindustan, come every year caravans… bringing slaves (barda)”

Now we move to the topic of sex slavery during Islamic invasions to India. The special interest of Muslims in sex slavery was universal and widespread and a plethora of evidence is available in contemporary Persian chronicles. In fact, Muslim historians derive extra delight in narrating anecdotes and stating facts about Muslim indulgence in sex and allied activities. But here is an incident that illuminates the way enslaved women were bounced around in the household of Islamic invaders.

Deval Devi was the daughter of Raja Karan Baghela of Gujarat and his queen Kamala Devi. Kamala Devi was captured in the sack of Gujarat (1299), and married by Alauddin Khalji. According to the Islamic law, slave women could be married to Muslims even while their husbands were alive for marriage is annulled by captivity. (This dictum can be seen in Muir, Life of Mahomet & in the book called Dictionary Of Islam).

Later on her daughter Deval Devi was also captured in another campaign (1308) and brought to Delhi. There she was married to Alauddin’s son Khizr Khan, against her will. After the assassination of Khizr Khan in the politics of succession, she was taken as a concubine by Qutbuddin Mubarak Khalji (1316-20). With the murder of Qutbuddin at the hands of Khusrau Khan she was taken into the latter’s harem.

In short, this princess was treated as nothing more than a transferable property in the Khalji ruling house. If this was the status of a princess belonging to a felled Hindu king, we can imagine the plight of the ordinary Hindu women that were enslaved by Islamic invaders and taken to their harems. It is for this reason that “Jauhar” of Hindu women (usually led by the surviving women folk of the felled Hindu king) started becoming a standard practice.

In Manucci II (336 – 38), we can also see the common Muslim names that enslaved Hindu little girls were given and upon attaining puberty they became concubines of the Islamic king that enslaved them. Here are a few names – Gulab, Champa, Chameli, Nargis, Kesar, Gul-i-Badam, Sosan, Yasmin, Gul-i-Rana, Gul Andam, Gul Anar, Saloni, Sugandhara, Koil, Gulrang, Mehndi, Dil Afroz etc. And I do not even want to touch the topic of enslavement and the treatment meted out to hijras and amrads (beardless boys) by the Islamic invaders.

Before someone can jump to a conclusion that Islamic invader of every shade just walked and enslaved people, it is worth to remember that unlike what happened in Spain or North Africa, or Syria or Persia, every wave of Islamic invasion was met with severe resistance from Hindus. We will deal with this topic separately but we are branching off to a slightly different topic.

Did Islam liberate “lower caste” Hindus from the clutches of caste system? Did these people leave Hinduism and accept Islam wishfully?

It is often said by the apologists of these slave takers that but for the Muslim rulers, the peasants would have continued to whither under caste system and that the light of Islam saved the day and many peasants “embraced” Islam. We will see the hollowness of this claim through Islamic sources now.

During Islamic invasions, the peasants scared by the prospect of enslavement, and finding the treatment by the government unbearable, sometimes left the fields and fled into the jungles. Often vanquished Rajas and aggrieved Zamindars also retired into the forests and organized resistance from there against Muslim rulers. In this confrontation Zamindars played the role of leaders and the peasants joined under their banner.

In the early period some angry rulers like Balban and Muhammad bin Tughlaq hunted down these escapists in the jungles like wild beasts. Muhammad Tughlaq was very keen on enslaving people and converting them to Islam. The flight of peasants sent him into fits of rage. When Hindus organized armed resistance armed peasants provided contingents to Baheliya, Bhadauriya, Bachgoti, Mandahar and Tomar Rajputs in the earlier period of Hindu resistance against Islamic invasions & to Jats, Marathas and Sikhs in the later periods. Thus labeling Islam as liberator of any Hindu group is utter foolishness. Period.

What peaceful (?) Sufis had to say about this great Islamic tradition of slavery?

The likes of Amir Khusrau (who is believed to be a peaceful Sufi!) & Ziyauddin Barani opined – “the Muslims dominated the infidels.” But the latter fortify themselves in mountains… (and uneven and rugged places) as well in bamboo groves which serve them as ramparts.” It is also recorded in Babar Nama (Babar upon arriving in Agra states) – “neither grain for ourselves nor corn for our horse, was to be had. The villagers, out of hostility, and hatred to us had taken to thieving and highway-robbery; there was no moving on the roads… All the inhabitants (khalaiq) had run away.” Similarly, it can be found in Mulfuzat-i-Timuri – “The defense of the people, consists of woods and forests and trees, which interweaving with stem and branch, render it very difficult to penetrate the country… (where) landlords and princes… who inhabit fastnesses in those forests… live there like wild beasts.”

The forest dwellers that left their villages to escape Islamic slavery suffered untold miseries. Still they had the satisfaction of being able to preserve their freedom. But all victims of aggression were not so lucky. Many groups and individuals could not escape from the clutches of the Muslim invaders and tyranny of their rulers; they used to be captured and enslaved. So that from the days of Muhammad bin Qasim in the seventh century to those of Ahmad Shah Abdali in the eighteenth, enslavement and distribution and sale of captives was systematically carried on by Muslim conquerors and rulers.

A Sufi of the stature of Amir Khusrau wrote in the Ashiqa: “Had not the law granted exemption from death by the payment of poll-tax, the very name of Hindu, root and branch, would have been extinguished.” A few years later he asserted that “the Turks, whenever they please, can seize, buy, or sell any Hindu.”

If this was the mindset of the ruling elite as expressed by the famous Sufi, the slave taking practice of Islamic invaders needs no further ads.

The key is that Islamic invaders to India took the practice of slavery to a whole new level that was unmatched before and after. And today many Muslims in India do not know or are willfully glossing over the past, where, someone in their lineage was enslaved by Islamic invasions and they ended up as a Muslim due to that lineage. This should not surprise us as Sultan Sikandar Lodi’s Mother was a Hindu that was enslaved by senior Lodi but he became a Muslim bigot. Sultan Sikandar Lodi’s Mother Zeba was originally a Hindu by the name of Hema a. k. a Amba. Bahlul Lodi was attracted by her beauty while he was governor of Sarhind. He forcefully married her after ascending the throne of Delhi. But she could not stop her son from slaughtering Hindus – like Father, like son.

We will discuss in the next article yet another factor that played a vital role in Islamization of India, i. e. Jizya (money that infidels had to pay to Muslim rulers for being infidels).

Who are Indian Muslims?

I know that this exercise I am going to launch here also is not very different from the above, yet I am diving into it.

My question to all of you is that in 1947 India got divided; Muslims got their part (it never was their part) of the land that they thought could be their haven for a peaceful life. (Koran teaches them to make all ‘darul al harb’ land to ‘daru al Islam’. They do it since 1400 years. They never are interested in lasting peace.) Right away we (not the Hindus or Sikhs; only the Muslims) started on a footing by going on a rampage killing each other – worst of man’s instinct came to forefront and the best got forgotten, except in some cases where Muslims helped their Hindu neighbors and the vice versa. (Also, some best Muslim friends of Hindus turned their Hindu friends to the Muslim mobs for killing.)

Okay – scores settled (No, it is not settled – no peace has come), we started our lives, Muslims in Pakistan and Hindus in India along with pockets of each other who decided to stay put. Then instead of trying to build our lives, Pakistan invaded Kashmir and the mayhem that has been going on for 64 years started. (Sure, they follow Koran. A Muslim cannot be comfortable as long as there is at least one kafir- non-Muslim.)

Why? (The root cause is the teachings of Koran.)

I have asked this question before and am asking again “How do you justify that Kashmir should be part of Pakistan?” (You say you are asking to the Muslims, but you are posting this to the Hindu group. How so? Why complain to the victims of Islam? Know that Sikhism is an offshoot of the Vedic dharma, and all the principles of Sikhism are found in the Vedic scriptures.)

Every single Pakistani I have met has this notion that India usurped J&K whereas the fact is:

1. That India stood by and watched Pakistani forces marching towards the Maharaja’s palace to capture him and then coerce him to sign a pact of succession, giving away his kingdom to Pakistan. It was not the people of Kashmir who attacked the Maharaja, it was the Pakistani forces.

2. Had the people of Kashmir wanted to join Pakistan, they should have risen in revolt and forced the Maharaja’s hand, not the Pakistanis.

3. Then India got an SOS from the Maharaja of J&K that he needs help. India replied that their intervention would be considered an invasion also until the Maharaja makes up his mind whether he wants to join India, stay free or join Pakistan. This is the right he had been given by the British, the same as other 514 Princely states, and those who fell within the territory of Pakistan like Bahawalpur joined Pakistan and with the exception of two Hyderabad and Junagadh, all others decided to join India.

So the Maharaja of J&K made up his mind at the last moment, before the Pakistani invaders captured him, to join India. Now it became a part of India and it became India’s duty to protect its territory.

Nehru got swayed by Mountbatten to accept ceasefire until the UN conducts by holding Plebiscite (people consultation by voting) as to what should be done. UN laid a few conditions which neither India and nor Pakistan fulfilled and therefore, this option of holding a Plebiscite got scuttled and now it is a dead issue as lot has changed.

As time went by, Pakistan kept on exerting violent pressure to force India to leave Kashmir and India would have none of it. India beat Pakistan in two wars within a period of less than 20 years – Pakistan could afford it since America was equipping it, but India could not since it had to rely on none other than itself. There was no foreign country giving even a rifle to India, forget about Paton Tanks that Pakistan was getting from USA – en graduate.

Then comes the Bangladesh? India helped Bengalis to secede, no doubt about it, but India did not incite them in any shape or form. It is only when Zulfiqar Bhutto who lost the election to Mujibur Rehman, refused to quit and invited Mujib to West Pakistan and put him under arrest, that Bengalis got enraged and sought India’s help. Bengalis organized Mukti Bahini – a resistance movement and maybe India equipped them – I do not know to what extent, but I suspect India did help them. I consider this only “tit for tat” for what Pakistan had put India through by invading twice. Also there was a moral factor – India was helping the oppressed, not the oppressor. If Mujibur Rehman had been elected fairly, why was he denied the right to form his government? That is the democratic way, isn’t it? West Pakistanis could have waited for a few years and in the next election taken over the gov’t, no they decided to send forces to suppress their Bengali Muslim countrymen. Was it not outrageous?

Now (I am) coming back to the mainstream of this thought. Pakistan blames India for its own follies and continues with its stubborn behavior. It has tried every tactic in the bag: Fomenting Islamic fundamentalism in Kashmir and sending guerillas there; training the Sikh separatists; committing acts of terror first limited to J&K, and now all over India. But it has not been able to advance its cause one inch.

My question is “how do you justify it all?” (Their justification is in Koran.)

Who is the real culprit? (Koran’s teachings.)

Why can’t Pakistan live in peace? (Because, it follows Koran.)

What good is J&K to it (Pakistan) when it (Pakistan) could not hold Bengal, (and) is not able to generate progress? (They strive, following Koran, to bring the whole world under Islam and Sharia.)

A lot of collateral damage has accrued as a result of bad governance, which has put Pakistan in dire straits and now it has been compounded by many other problems. Not only is Kashmir beyond Pakistan’s reach, even Balochistan and Sindh are disgruntled – whether they secede or not is a moot point, but unrest will remain forever. Pakistani blame India for lending support to the Balochis, maybe it is true, (but) then why not? If Pakistan follows the way of any enemy, why should not India? (The Vedic desh and people tolerated far way beyond the limit. Now it has to change.)

The unnecessary suffering of the people of Pakistan is the heart breaker. (Does the suffering of the Hindus in their own land caused by the Muslims not break your heart? Did you forget the suffering caused by the Muslims to the Sikh gurus?) It is not their doing it is the doing of their government which is dominated by the military generals. Therefore, unless the people of Pakistan shed this bad element and say to the army “your job is to protect us, not rule us” no relief is possible. (No peace is possible till they give up Islam. They all are the decedents of the Hindus who, a few centuries ago, were forced to accept Islam.) In India no general has ever sought even an election, forget about thinking of ruling. Military mind is a different kind of mind, and is not a conciliatory type. (A military has to remain under righteous authority.)

So (my Muslim) friends, instead of calling me a hate-monger which I am not, answer my questions. If at times I have written about Islam as a violent religion, it is an outcrop of what the Muslims have been doing to the Hindus for centuries, and do not stop even now. (If you read Koran, you will know how barbaric Islam is. See some quotes on this blog.) All these acts of terrorism, all this J&K campaign, all this training the Sikhs, are the reasons that keep influencing my thinking; otherwise what does it matter to me “how you pray to your God” in whose existence even I have very different views. (Your having different views are a problem to them.) I hate religions (You did not learn about the Vedic dharma, your ancestors’ dharma, from a right authority. If you are a righteous man, you already are practicing Vedic dharma, and you do not know it) and more so the fanatics who chant slogans of imbibing spirituality, but conduct themselves in far worse manner etc.

Neither do I hate Islam (First, read Koran and find reasons, if you could, why you should love it.) and nor Pakistan – I hate its war and terror-mongering. In fact, I would like to see a prosperous and happy neighbor in Pakistan, because that only is conducive to my own happy living, not a suffering Pakistan but a progressive Pakistan. (And what you wish for your own desh and the Vedics? The Vedic dharma scriptures already have very ancient universal prayers; like

ॐ सहना वव तु सहनौ भुनक्तु

सहवीर्यम् करवावहै

तेजस्विना वदितमस्तु

मा विद्विसावहै

ॐ शान्ति शान्ति शान्तिः॥ )
