Subject: Was Akbar Great?

A new tele-serial have just started on television on Love story of Jodha Akbar, Peaceful reign of Akbar. The brain behind this serial wants to prove that Akbar was a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity, as he married Hindu princess. But in reality Rajputs of those days have lost the legacy and self pride of their fore-fathers Baapa Rawal and Maharana Sanga except Maharana Pratap who did not send his daughter to Akbar’s Harem but also challenged Akbar in Haldi Ghati with his limited resources and manpower. Maharana Pratap self pride accepted hard life in Jungles instead of seats in Akbar’s durbar. I am providing references from Book Akbar the great Mougal (1542-1605) published in 1917 by Historian Vincent Smith, an English historian which proves that Akbar was a fanatic of radical belief, merciless to enemy, anti Hindu in mindset, drunkard and arrogant .

Akbar earned title of Ghazi by killing already half dead Hindu King Hemu and celebrated his victory by making tower by heads of slain.

Hemu’s artillery, which had been sent on in advance was captured by the vanguard of Akbar’s army in a preliminary engagement. But, even after that loss, the Hindu general still possessed an immense superiority of strength. He relied especially on his 1,500 war elephants, in accordance with ancient Hindu tradition. Each army was drawn up in three divisions. On November 5 Hemu succeeded in throwing both the right and the left wings of his opponents into confusion, and sought to make his victory decisive by bringing all his ‘ mountain-like elephants ‘ to bear on the centre of the enemy, commanded by Khan Zaman. Probably he would have won but for the accident that he was struck in the eye by an arrow which pierced his brain and rendered him unconscious. An Indian army never could survive the loss of its leader, on whose life its pay depended.

Hemu’s soldiers at once scattered in various directions and made no further attempt at resistance. Hemu’s elephant, which had fled into the jungle, was brought back by Shah Kuli Khan Mahram, and its unconscious rider was placed before the Protector and Akbar, who had ridden up. During the battle the young prince had been kept at a safe distance in the rear, and Bairam Khan had left the conduct of the fight to his lieutenants.

Bairam Khan desired Akbar to earn the title of Ghazi, Executor Slayer of the Infidel, by fleshing his sword on the captive. The boy naturally obeyed his guardian and smote Hemu on the neck with his scimitar. The bystanders also plunged their swords into the bleeding corpse. Hemu’s head was sent to Kabul to be exposed, and his trunk was gibbeted at one of the gates of Delhi.

The pursuit of the defeated army being vigorously pressed, the victors next day, without halting, marched straight to Delhi, which opened its gates to Akbar, who made his entry in state. Agra also passed into his possession. In accordance with the ghastly custom of the times, a tower was built with the heads of the slain. Immense treasures were taken from the family of Hemu and his aged father was executed.

Akbar married Bairam khan’s wife who was his protector and raised him from childhood.

In 1557-8, the Bairam ladies of the royal family arrived safely from Kabul and Khan rejoined Akbar at Mankot. Akbar marched out a stage to Salima meet them, and was much comforted by the reunion; Begam from Mankot the army marched to Lahore, halting on the way at Jalandhar, where Bairam Khan married Salima

Begam, an accomplished young lady, the daughter of

Humayun’s sister, and consequently a grand-daughter of

Babur and cousin of Akbar. After the fall of Bairam Khan, Akbar married her himself. She lived until 1612, and always ranked as one of the most important ladies of the court.

Merciful Akbar?

Akbar’s annexations were the result of ordinary kingly ambition supported by adequate power. The attack, devoid of moral justification, on the excellent government of Rani Durgavati was made on the principle which determined the subsequent annexations of Kashmir, Ahmadnagar, and other kingdoms. Akbar felt no scruples about initiating a war, and once he had begun a quarrel he hit hard and without mercy. His better nature made itself felt after victory had been secured. Until then his proceedings were much the same as those of other able, ambitious, and ruthless kings.

Rani Durgavati made a gallant defense, but many of her fate soldiers, apparently terrified by the might of the invader, deserted and left her to fight the enemy with inadequate forces. Her final stand was made between Garha and Mandla, now in the Jabalpur District. Mounted on a mighty elephant, she led her men with the utmost bravery until disabled by two wounds from arrows. Choosing death rather than dishonor, she stabbed herself to the heart, so that her end was as noble and devoted as her life had been useful’

Killing of Kafirs nothing more than a play

An extraordinary incident which occurred in April while the royal camp was at Thanesar, the famous Hindu place of at pilgrimage to the north of Delhi, throws a rather unpleasant Thanesar upon Akbar’s character. The sanyasis, or fakirs, who assembled at the holy tank, were divided into two parties, which Abu-1 Fazl calls Kurs and Puris. The leader of the latter complained to the king that the Kurs had unjustly occupied the accustomed sitting-place of the Puris, who were thus debarred from collecting the pilgrims’ alms. Neither party would listen to friendly counsel. Both factions begged permission that the dispute might be decided by mortal combat. The desired leave having been granted, the hostile crowds drew up in line, and the fight began with swords, one man on each side advancing in braggart fashion and starting the fray. Swords were discarded for bows and arrows, and these again for stones.

Akbar, seeing that the Puris were outnumbered, gave the

signal to some of his more savage followers to help the

Weaker party. The reinforcement enabled the Puris to

drive the Kurs into headlong flight. The vanquished were pursued and a number of the wretches sent to annihilation. The dead are said to have been about twenty. The chronicler unctuously adds that ‘ the holy heart, which is the colourist of destiny’s worship, was highly delighted with this sport. The other historians tell us that the numbers originally engaged were two or three hundred on one side and five hundred on the other, so that with the reinforcement the total came to about a thousand. The author of the Tabakat agrees with Abu-1 Fazl that ‘ the Emperor greatly enjoyed the sight

It is disappointing to find that a man like Akbar could

encourage such sanguinary sport and even wantonly

sacrifice the lives of his own soldiers who had no interest in the quarrel.

Massacres by Akbar at Chittodgarh

The jauhar sacrifice completed before the final capture

of the fortress was on a large scale, although far smaller massacres than on previous occasions, if the traditional numbers can and be believed. The fires were kindled in three distinct places, belonging respectively to members of the Sisodia, Rathod and Chauhan clans. Nine queens, five princesses, their daughters, as well as two infant sons, and all the chieftains families who happened not to be away on their estates perished either in the flames or in the assault. Abu-1 Fazl estimates that three hundred women were burnt. During the course of the following morning, when Akbar made his entry, eight thousand Rajputs, vowed to death, sold their lives as dearly as possible and perished to a man.

Akbar, exasperated by the obstinate resistance offered to his arms, treated the garrison and town with merciless severity. The eight thousand Rajput soldiers who formed the regular garrison having been zealously helped during the siege by 40,000 peasants, the emperor ordered a general massacre, which resulted in the death of 30,000. Many, however, were spared and made prisoners.

It is said that Akbar estimated the total of the Rajput dead by collecting and weighing the ‘Brahmanical cords ‘(janeo or zandr), which it is the privilege and obligation of high caste men to wear. The recorded amount was 74|- mans of about eight pounds each.

Akbar drunken freak

A queer story related by Abu-1 Fazl describes an incident which happened at or near Surat. One night, we are told, there was a select drinking-party, and the talk turned upon the disregard for life shown by the heroes of Hindostan. It was said that two Rajput rivals would run from opposite sides against the points of a double-headed spear, or two spears, held by third parties, so that the points would transfix both of the rivals and come out at their backs; Akbar, who could not pretend to have a rival, announced, to the horror of his fellow revelers, that he would fight his sword. He fixed the hilt into the wall, and was about to

transfix himself by rushing against the point, when Raja Man Singh ‘ with the foot of fidelity ‘ kicked down the sword, and in doing so cut his sovereign’s hand. Akbar promptly knocked down Man Singh and squeezed him hard. Saijdd Muzaffar, one of the merry party, was obliged to go so far as to twist Akbar’s injured finger, in order to make him loosen his hold on the throat of Man Singh, whom he would have choked in his rage. The opportune wrench opened Akbar’s wound, but that soon healed. Akbar must have been shockingly drunk. He appears to have had the good sense not to resent the rough measures by which his friends saved him from himself, and it is wonderful that two historians should have had the candor to record the scandalous affair.

Although the uncritical panegyrists of Akbar make no mention of his drunken bouts, and his published sayings include phrases condemnatory of excess in wine, it is certain that for many years he kept up the family tradition and often drank more than he could carry.

Inhuman torture by Akbar

Cruel On the arrival of the emperor at his capital, Husain Kuli Khan (Khan Jahan) waited on him with his prisoners. The eyes of Masud Husain Mirza had been sewn up, and Akbar was credited with kindness because he directed them to be opened. The other prisoners, nearly three hundred in number, met with little mercy. They were brought before Akbar with the skins of asses, hogs, and dogs drawn over their faces. Some of them were executed with various ingenious tortures, and some were released. It is disgusting to find a man like Akbar sanctioning such barbarities. His philosophy sometimes failed to curb the tendency to cruelty which he inherited from his Tartar ancestors. The severities practiced did not finally extirpate the Mirza trouble, which soon broke out again in Gujarat.

Always it was Gain of Islam

Badaoni, the historian, who was then one of Akbar’s court chaplains or Imams, had begged leave of absence to join in the holy war, in which he took part as a follower of Asaf Khan. His description of the battle is the most detailed and accurate extant. He enjoyed himself, in spite of the scorching heat and air like a furnace which made men’s brains boil in their skulls. At one stage in the fierce struggle Badaoni asked Asaf Khan how he could distinguish between the friendly and the enemy Rajputs, and was assured in reply that he could not do wrong if he shot, as sportsmen say, ‘ into the brown ‘, because, as the commander cynically

Observed, ‘ On whichever side they may be killed, it will be a gain to Islam ‘.

Badaoni gladly took the advice, and was soothed by an inward conviction that he had attained the reward due to one who fights against infidels. He also had the pleasure of observing that the son of Jaimall, the hero of Chitor went to hell and that there was much other ‘ good riddance of bad rubbish.

(Most of readers have heard that Islam Spread through Sword, This is Truth in every sense if we concern History of our country but very few people have heard that Islam had spread through Cheating, Seduction, Treachery, Ill Tactics, Deceit, fake, fraud and betrayal. This Article is referred from book “The Preaching of Islam by Sir Thomas Walker Arnold ” Page 224-227. Muslims of Gujarat Specially in Kutch Area, Sindh and Area of western India Should Identify this Truth and return Back to their original roots. This act will be a true homage to their Forefather’s who were once cheated by so called messengers of Peace-The Sufis.)

One of the most famous of these missionaries was the celebrated saint, Sayyid Yusufu-ddin who came to Sind in 1422; after labouring there for ten years, he succeeded in winning over to Islam 700 families of the

Lohana caste, who followed the example of two of their number, by name Sundarji and Hansraj; these men embraced Islam, after seeing some miracles performed by the saint, and on their conversion received the names of Adamjl and Taj Muhammad respectively.

Under the leadership of the grandson of the former, these people afterwards migrated to Cutch, where their numbers were increased by converts from among the Cutch Lohanas.

Sind was also the scene of the labours of Pir Sadru-d Din, a missionary of the Ismailian sect, whose doctrines he introduced into India about 400 years ago. In accordance with the principles of accommodation practised by this sect, he took a Hindu name and made certain concessions to the religious beliefs of the Hindus whose conversion he sought to achieve and introduced among them a book entitled Dasavatar in which ‘All was made out to be the tenth Avatar or incarnation of Visnu.

This book has been from the beginning the accepted scripture of the Khojah sect and it is always read by the bedside of the dying, and periodically at many festivals. It assumes the nine incarnations of Visnu to be true as far as they go, but to fall short of the perfect truth, and supplements this imperfect Vaisnav system by the cardinal doctrine of the Isma’ilians, the incarnation and coming manifestation of ‘All. Further he made out Brahma to be Muhammad, Vishnu to be ‘All and Adam Siva. The first of Pir Sadru-d Din’s converts were won in the villages and towns of Upper Sind. He preached also in Cutch and from these parts the doctrines of this sect spread southwards through Gujarat to Bombay; and at the present day Khojah communities are to be found in almost all the large trading towns of Western India and on the seaboard of the Indian Ocean.

Pir Sadru-d Din was not however the first of the Isma’ilian missionaries that came into India. Some centuries before, a preacher of this sect known by the name of Nur Satagar, had been sent into India from Alamut, the stronghold of the Grand Master of the Isma’ilians, and reached Gujarat in the reign of the Hindu king, Siddha Raj (1094-1143 a. d.). He adopted a Hindu name but told the Muhammadans that his real name was Sayyid Sa’adat. He is said to have converted the Kanbis, Kharwas and Koris, low castes of Gujarat. Many of the Cutch Musalmans that are of Hindu descent reverence as their spiritual leader Dawal Shah Pir, whose real name was Malik ‘Abdu-1 Latif the son of one of the nobles of Mahmiid Bigarrah (1459-1511), the famous monarch of the Muhammadan dynasty of Gujarat, to whose reign popular tradition assigns the date of the conversion of many Hindus.

To the efforts of the same monarch has been ascribed the conversion of the Borahs, a large and important trading community of Shi’ahs, of Hindu origin, who are found in considerable numbers in the chief commercial centers of the Bombay Presidency, but as various earlier dates have also been assigned, such as the beginning of the fourteenth century and even the eleventh century, when the early Shiah preachers are said to have been treated with great kindness by the Hindu kings of Anhilvada in Northern Gujarat. It is probable that their conversion was the work of several generations. A Shiah historian has left us the following account of the laborers of a missionary named Mulla ‘All, among these people, about the beginning of the fourteenth century. As the inhabitants of Gujarat were pagans, and were guided by an aged priest, a recreant, in whom they had a great confidence, and whose disciples they were, the missionary judged it expedient, first to offer himself as a pupil to the priest, and after convincing him by irrefragable proofs, and making him participate in the declaration of faith, then to undertake the conversion of others. He accordingly passed some years in attendance on that priest, learnt his language, studied his sciences, and became conversant with his books. By degrees he opened the articles of the faith to the enlightened priest, and persuaded him to become a Musalman. Some of his people changed their religion in concert with their old instructor. The circumstances of the priest’s conversion being made known to the principal minister of the king of the country, he visited the priest, adopted habits of obedience towards him, and became a Muslim. But for a long time, the minister, the priest, and the rest of the converts dissembled their faith, and sought to keep it concealed, through dread of the king.

At length the intelligence of the minister’s conversion reached the monarch. One day he repaired to his house, and finding him in the humble posture of prayer, was incensed against him. The minister knew the motive of the king’s visit, and perceived that his anger arose from the suspicion that he was reciting prayers and performing adoration. With presence of mind inspired by divine providence, he immediately pretended that his prostrations were occasioned by the sight of a serpent, which appeared in the corner of the room, and against which he was employing incantations. The king cast his eyes towards the corner of the apartment, and it so happened that there he saw a serpent. The minister’s excuse appeared credible, and the king’s suspicions were lulled.

After a time, the king himself secretly became a convert to the Muslim faith, but dissembled the state of his mind, for reasons of state. Yet, at the point of death he ordered, by his will, that his corpse should not be burnt, according to the customs of the pagans.

Subsequently to his decease, when Sultan Zafar, one of the trusty nobles of Sultan Firuz Shah, sovereign of Delhi (1531-88), conquered the province of Gujarat, some learned men, who accompanied him, used arguments to make the people embrace the faith according to the doctrines of such as revere the traditions ” (i.e. the Sunnis). But, though some of the Borahs are Sunnis, for example in the district of Kaira, the majority of them are Shiahs.

Another missionary who laboured in Gujarat in the latter part of the fourteenth century was Shayjdi Jalal, commonly known under the appellation of Makhdum-i-Jahaniyan, who came and settled in Gujarat, where he and his descendants were instrumental in the conversion of large numbers of Hindus.

Muslims in India came by use of violent savage force, starting with the invasion by MOHAMMED bin Qasim in 712 AD who promised gold and virgins to the sex starved wild savages in the very land of Mohammed’s birth and filled their brains with his commands and teachings.

Bin Qasim looted & massacred to his heart’s desire, and after slaying as many natives as he could, carried off all the gold and silver and temple wealth that he could, and the two daughters of the Hindu ruler as presents for the Imam of Mecca and the Caliph of Baghdad, confirming their bestiality & exposing the truth and reality about so-called “ISLAM”.

From that first moment the Hindus ought to have understood the “beast” that would cause widespread destruction of homes, schools, temples and libraries, and kill countless natives of the soil.

But modern Britain took them in voluntarily in the charitable kindness of Jesus Christ. So did Sweden, known as the magnet for the Muslims fleeing their own ISLAMIC Republics where they had ubiquitous “MOHAMMED” everywhere, to the right and the left, at the back and in front- and even in the constitutions.

So why did the Muslims vote with their feet in ISLAMIC republic like Pakistan? In the case of Pakistanis they had already “killed” the land of their birth (India).

They ran away from their countries, firstly to flee the mayhem and bloodshed of “Muslim upon Muslim” killings, and, secondly, to come to Christian lands to DO THE SAME here.

The Europeans are now beginning to understand that the beast is incorrigible and all attempts at integration, de-brainwashing and reform of the Koran have failed. Each new generation is again injected with the hate and fanaticism imbibed from that Book reflecting the culture of the barbarian Arabs 1400 years ago.

Europe is spending billions of dollars, pounds and Euros to re-educate and reform the Muslims but to no avail as we see from the fires burning in Stockholm and the latest gruesome murder of a young soldier, not far from his barracks in Woolwich, London.

Emergency cabinet discussions, public statements and interviews by ministers, inter faith leaders, and renewed dialogues with the Muslims are the main news since that savage murder where the body of the slain soldier was continuously hacked and the head severed. Television shows the piles of flowers and messages of condolence and sympathy for the soldier, his colleagues, parents and the young wife in anguish. He leaves behind a two year old son.

To MILLIONS of Hindus and Sikhs who can still recall the Holocaust of 1946 and 1947 the sight of grieving widows and the cries of orphans would be as real as those of the siblings, wife and parents of the murdered soldier in London on 24 May 2013.

Most Indians have NO idea of the love and esteem in which the soldiers are held in this country. All the Royal family are, or have served, in the army, navy and air force. The princes (Charles, William and Harry) served in the Falklands war (when the islands were recovered without any cease fire) and in Afghanistan. In this country, where they clearly recall and celebrate in public, the valor and bravery of soldiers during World War 2, ONE soldier would be considered worth more than a million “imported” First Ladies or “Rashtramatas” like Sonia Maino-Gandhi in Bharat. The pride, unity and strength of this nation has only to be seen on such occasions to be believed.

The soldier at the time of the beastly attack was wearing the shirt with the motif of the charity, “HELP THE HEROES”.

How on earth could Europe, Canada, the USA open the flood gates to the potential killers, rapists and arsonists knowing fully well what they did to the gentle and tolerant natives of Bharat in 1947, who were, consequently, forced to pay with a pound of flesh (TERRITORY) and a ton of blood (TWO MILLION killed, maimed or raped) and also made to keep the enemy WITHIN?

It just proves, “Politicians are dirty, devious and short sighted” everywhere. And our Gandhi, Nehru and Baldev Singh were no exception.

Even those sitting in the “Mother of all Parliaments” in London could not act in the interest of the United Kingdom that is now threatened to remain UNITED no more.

The murder of a soldier in broad daylight in the country’s capital is UNPRECEDENTED and has sent shock waves through the nation as well as the Hindu and Sikh NRI’s living here, some of whom have been shot, mistaken for the Taliban.

India was FORCED to accept them due to weakness but Great Britain and Sweden admitted them despite being strong and sovereign.

Often the natives of soil are not afraid but complacent until they are forcibly driven out as refugees. The Europeans have not only been complacent but also over confident, having conquered most of the world at one time or another. That over confidence has now become the key to their ultimate destruction.

The process of decline in civilization has started. Stockholm in Sweden is the latest large city in Europe to be set ablaze by her Muslim immigrants. Two years ago it was London. What next?

ROOT CAUSE OF MUSLIM UNREST: Their memory is very short but expectations very high. They cannot recall how the Non Muslims are treated in Saudi Arabia and every Islamic republic.

They do not recall as to why they FLED the lands of Rasul Allah. And they do not recall the day they were allowed to enter Europe.

On that day they KISSED the soil and said “THANK YOU” to the host communities and were mighty GRATEFUL for the life of peace away from the violence and fires of their own countries they had left behind in utmost fright & frustration.

But only after a few years they are changed. They never integrated, kept females in purdah or indoors and married them minor, forced Koran and Arabic on small children to brainwash them from tender age, thus making them feel aliens and useless for the job market but very good at reproduction and demanding concessions and State benefits.

They also find the local girls not so timid or obliging as back home. Many give a slap when approached with offerings of gold and the promises of eternal love and instant marriage.

As soon as they step out of home they perceive the environment a mirror of their own inner thoughts and fears, i.e., hostile and threatening. That is where the urge to KILL a soldier and destroy a train or hijack and explode a plane takes hold of their morbid brains.

Bharat needs to copy the West with regard to treatment of the indigestible Muslim community in their midst, especially due to Partition when they all had to be shoved off to Pakistan.

Immigration in the West is very strict now. All mosques and most radical Muslims are under surveillance. Only a few escape the net like the killers of the soldier LEE RIGBY. The MEDIA devote pages upon pages and columns upon columns on any act of terrorism and the culprits pursued, caught and then sent to spend the rest of life BEHIND BARS. America goes a step further. We have all heard of GUANTANAMO!

If the freedom loving Americans do not amend the constitution declaring Islam illegal, then USA will become a Muslism country. That means no freedom of thought, speech, religion, of any freedom for women.

Koran’s Sura 109

Sura 109

Let me make a few comments on this Sura.

Mr. H wonders “How do you reconcile the text which says

“go kill all the non-believers” with Sura 109 which I discussed

to be peaceful law-abiding citizens, following Sura 109 perhaps even without knowing what it says.”

First part first — how to reconcile this Sura with the reast of the text that says “go kill all the non-believers”. Actually it is not all that difficult. The Prophet’s life had two distinct periods — the initial Meccan period and the later Medina period. During the first period he did not have much of a following and he gained barely 100 – 150 followers. During this period he was relatively mild and even willing to compromise with the Meccans as his so called “Satanic verses” reveal. But then due to opposition from his few followers, he recanted and called them “Satanic verses”. But after migrating to Medina and acquiring political power, he became very aggressive. Even in Mecca, though he was mild, probably due to lack of political power, he never really compromised his ideology. Sura 109 might seem like a compromise but if one looks at it carefully — it is not at all a compromise — rather it is very confrontational. It says “I will never worship what you worship” and then giving up in frustration he says “You will never worship what I worship.” There is no compromise in it. The Sura does not say — what is important is being a good person, who you worship and in what form is rather immaterial. If really there is ONLY ONE GOd how can anyone worship anyone else? This is the point Krihsna makes in Gita. Whoever you worship — you still worship me as I am the only God. The form and shape and name is immaterial.

The Koran has dual nature — a peaceful and rather tolerant Meccan part and an aggressive intolerant Medina part and both having come — at least what the Muslims believe — from God cannot be wrong — thus a Muslim uses whatever suits him at the time. The law of abrogation — the later verses abrogating the earlier ones — is used selectively. The normal logic is if two things are contradictory — one of them must be wrong — but in Islam both are right.

The second part: “yet 90% of Muslims continue

to be peaceful law-abiding citizens, following Sura 109

perhaps even without knowing what it says.”

Very true — most of the Muslims are peaceful law abiding citizens. They are after all human beings and want a good life. They don’t all know what the Koran says and even some who know pay scant attention to it unless someone shames them into not being a “good Muslim”.

My thoughts for whatever these are worth.

On Interpretation of Koran

If Muslims are saying that their Quranic Verses are misinterpreted, by whom? Every MUSLIM has his own interpretation. The question I need MUSLIMS to answer is:

– Who wrote the Quran that states unbelievers must be maimed, punished, then killed if they do not convert? The same is in the bible. If this is the word of god then I want to see that god and I will be the first one to kill him without any question. That god must be mad.

There are 3, 820 such verses in the QURAN and many in the BIBLE that speaks of non-believers. The QURAN WAS written nearly two hundred years after the death of MOHAMMED by several CALIPHS who killed each other for supremacy.

If the non-Muslims world is going to be accused of misinterpreting the QURAN then MUSLIMS need to introspect and examine the many versions of the Quran. It is not non-Muslims’ fault to read and take what is written in the QURAN as the word of ALLAH.
