Imperialism, Colonialism and Expansionism’s Impact on Hindustan
I ask my readers to carefully study the problems of Imperialism, Colonialism and Expansionism as Indians became victims of expansionist doctrine of one or another kind.
In the history of modern man, group warfare is used as tool to expand territory to extend both political and economic influence. Whatever may be the reason, expansionism always demands subjugation of people residing in occupied territory. To subjugate people, rulers use tactics. In India, Muslim rulers spared the lives of people who converted to Islam. British rulers gave better opportunities to Christians and hired them for running governmental services. At the same time, British ignored plight of Hindus who died during Bengal famine which killed millions of people.
Please come fully prepared to take part in this discussion. The State Policy in the past allowed killing of Hindus while sparing the lives of other people.
